its a chance item.... its a story, and at certian points in the story, you can either try to progress in the story, or withdraw... and the further on you go, the harder it is to actually go, but the better things you can get.

i dont think its very random if my whole avvy is dragon themed, and my name means brightscales (its the ancient language from the eragon series)

well there is a feature in the dressup section that lets you save up to 4 different avvy's, so that you can pick whichever one, and have all the items instantly put on your avvy!

oh and a bit of constructive criticism on your avatar, it seems a bit too cluttered. maybe try to remove some items so it doesnt seem all over the place. try to focus on a color or theme if possible ^^

i dont really get alot of gaia cash, it was mostly old monthly collectables.... but i guess i have invested in a few evolving items over the past couple years. oh and a bunch of nice gifts from friends too, that helped alot ^^
