Actually, Tracey was made due to possible racism from Brock's ethnicity. They didn't know if he would be a racist stereotype or not when he went global, so the author replaced Brock with the made up on the spot Tracey, to make sure not to be racist. After fan overflow of people wanting Brock back, and saying that he isn't racist, the author brought Brock back and wrote Tracey out of the story, aka, "sent him to Oaks house". Also, the author has made sure to change his token "gets dragged away from the girl he is hitting on" joke into different forms, from Misty drags him away, to Dawn drags him away, to Crogunk stabbing him and dragging him away. The author seems pretty determined to keep Brock is all.
The latest episode I saw on Cartoon Network has him talking to a female breeder about food making. His dream is ALWAYS talked about.
Actually, none of the girls left their dreams behind. Misty being a water master fits with her gym. No, his skin color exists to bring the aspect of equal regardless of skin color. Yes, it is as important as a girl being in the team. Ash isn't level headed, and there hasn't been a single girl character that is so far. Not saying they don't exist, but they are rare. Ash can't cook, and we haven't seen ONE GIRL yet that can cook either. He is as needed as a female character in the group. Its called variety. Naw, I don't see him as boring, in fact, he is my favorite character on the show. I find Ash and most of the girls to be boring lol. Tracey was only a temporary replacement to take a break from Brock. I wouldn't mind if we took another break from him again, but he isn't going to leave. His and Ash's dreams are the main dreams that are always being researched in the series really. Contests, coordinators, and water pokemon come and go, but taking care of pokemon lasts forever. Actually, they wouldn't function at all, as they need a smart person to take care of supplies, pokemon health, and so on and so forth. Brock also represents the smart aged person when it comes to pokemon health.
Brock has the dream of being the worlds best pokemon breeder, just like Ash wants to be the greatest pokemon master. Both of them will NEVER give up on their dreams. Never.
Brock is the ethnic element in the series, just like the girl is the female element in their team. Just like taking the girl away would be sexist, having no non white member on their team could come off as racist.
Brock is the comedic aspect in the team.
Brock is the guy that makes sure they have supplies.
Brock is the guy that cooks for them.
Brock is the logical, level headed, and experienced person in their team.
Brock is the rare perverted aspect that ALL anime have in order to survive.
I am not saying that I don't want Brock to be replaced, I am simply showing what the new recruit would need to be able to do in order to qualify.
Cooking, supplies, comedic aspect, not white, and level headed. I can see why he is hard to replace lol.
Also, I found Tracey to be just "a small break" from Brock. It was nice, but couldn't last, as Tracey isn't qualified enough. Gary isn't qualified enough either.
Hmm......I can't think of someone that is.......can you? sad
Ah. I was never into Harry Potter, but I did play the Yugioh and Pokemon TCG's, and played in tournaments.
Also, my favorite Miyazaki movie will always be Spirited Away. smile
