Dead Sexy


I remember all those
little gifts
you liked leaving on my doorstep.

That dead mouse on Christmas eve
was an especially nice touch,
and the whole rat the day after
almost made me blush.

I was cleaning the stoop
when I found the sparrow
you had hidden in the cracks,
and I feigned annoyance,
but in truth
my heart leapt to my throat
and I just had
to swallow.

And with all these little things
I wish I had a word for what I felt,
but

between us
just wouldn't
work out.

During the night as I was walking,strolling through the pallid fog,
Though my legs were almost balking, 'twas my mind that felt a jog.
Upon a hill, my eyes were gawking, as my feet in midmotion froze,

Love Takes Time



Ever been heartbroken?
Know how it feels
To have your heart torn out and ran over by wheels?
Picked up and dropped by every lover who has passed
Until eventually it shatters like glass?
Time glues the pieces back together,
Helps you to get over the pain,
You find someone else with whom you fall in love
But you’re afraid to try again,
Afraid to place your mended heart in the hands of another lover,
Afraid of history repeating itself, so then again why bother?

You are truly in love with this person,
Who gives you nothing but their best,
A true diamond in the rough when compared to all the rest,
He never asks much of you, doesn’t care about your wealth,
He just wants your complete devotion and honesty and for you to be yourself.
He has this magnetic personality, seductive body and hypnotic charm,
Terrific sense of humor, he can make you laugh up a storm,
Nonetheless he’s sensitive to the feelings of others,
And like very few acknowledges when he is wrong,
He displays character not of a self centred man
But a caring man who is brave and strong.

He appeals to you in every way possible, fulfils all of your needs,
Seems rough and tough on the outside
But in reality punch him too hard and he bleeds,
He gives you unlimited attention, unconditional love,
Endless affection, surely he was sent from above.
Days go by, then months, then years
An excellent relationship builds, casting aside your fears.
You’ve learned to live and love again, learned to trust someone,
Learned to care, comfort and communicate, you’ve created a special bond,
A bond that guarantees eternal love, hope and prosperity,
Where neither of you end up getting hurt, Now that’s the way it should be.
