Do you know how to set an store? Just go to Shop> Marketplace> Sell an Item
There you choose the item, the price, the time of the selling (meaning for how long it will be at your store). And you have to choose whether it will be buy only, bid only or both.

You mean making your own store? It's for free. They only take take a 2% of the total value of each sell you make.

Collect the free stuff and when you are done with the old, sell them for new things. Houses... I don't really do that nor the car rally thing either. I just decorate my avatar. xD I've been here for a little bit over a year now... only thing I do is role play and sell my extra junk. Playing Jigsaw puzzles is good and I've heard that the aquarium thing is good for gold too.

That's simple. You follow the instructions Gaia gives you when you hover over "Shop" scroll down to "Marketplace" and then click "My Shop" just follow on after that.
