Why do I ask? Well, usually my statuses, even when using lyrics, convey my emotions. I didn't think you had any crushes, so…I'm curious. I'd be very interested if you did have a crush, so don't worry about me getting bored! …And if it's just lyrics, don't confuse me like that, please…it makes me think you mean it for something, like I do, like I always do.

I kept waiting for some amazing thing that would make me go, "Oh, she's so amazing!" as many things tend to. I was guessing that it might be a journal entry, specifically one involving a certain drawing…

Hi, Maria! Sorry to bother you (again), but I wanted to do an art request. Do you think that, when you get the chance, you could do another drawing with our characters, possibly even us in real life? I'm depressed right now because one of my camp friends did drawings of her friends, and I'm feeling like no one would ever want to do that for me. I know you've done that before, but…I just feel down. Please, can you draw something for me, something that will make me feel happy again?

I read more, and I understand how to explain the whole dæmon concept better, in one simple sentence: it's like having a relationship with your soul. Not cultish anymore!

My dæmon is being silent, but she's sitting on my shoulder and observing. The computer makes it hard to talk to her, or she'd say something to you. She seems to have a different persona when silent than when talking…but I suppose that makes sense, because I think I do, too. (Me silent = shy, nice, insecure; me talking = random, rambly, attention deficit, possibly rude and/or self absorbed. Not her personas, but similar.)

I really hope you get involved in it, too, because I'd need someone that I can tell anything to for this, so I can talk about what advances I make in learning about my dæmon. If you try to talk to yours, then you can tell me about yours and actually have something to talk about so i don't feel guilty every time I ramble endlessly. (I wonder if my dæmon is responsible for the guilt…? Man, she needs a name! I call her "she" or "you" in my head, but that doesn't work so well when talking to others…)

Hiya! Rather than starting a message for this quick note (or series of notes), I'm going to post it as a comment to make sure you see it quicker.

Anyway, this is a link to a very interesting site: http://daemonpage.com/

It's long (and for me, addicting), so I wouldn't ask you to read it unless you had a lot of time to spend, so I'll summarize it. Basically, the creator of the site had an "imaginary friend" that was a black wolf, then she read the His Dark Materials series and eventually realized that her "friend" was her dæmon. Now she's created a whole site about how dæmons exists as parts of our minds, and you can visualize their forms and talk to them, and that they've been there all along and you just don't realize it.

Anyway, I'm buying into it, though I feel as though I'm buying into a weird cult. I know what she means by someone talking to you in your mind. No, it isn't the voices I hear on the phone, it's someone yelling at the people I'm mad at, helping me out, sometimes giving me ideas…etcetera. The site explains it better. It's a bit difficult, especially while listening to music or having a song stuck in my head, but I'm trying to talk to my dæmon. It's easier than you'd think, but harder than the people completely in tune with their dæmon make it sound. I get confused about which words are mine and my dæmon's…but I've just started. Maybe I'll figure it out when I get to know the dæmon better. Oh, and do you remember how they said in HDM that the dæmon is usually the opposite of your gender? That's apparently true in the real world (if any of this is real at all), but I'm pretty positive that mine's a girl. Her voice started out sounding like Kitora's (heh heh heh heh) but now she's got her own tone. She's more outgoing than I am. And…she's not settled (that depends on if you personality is settled, and that's definitely not true), but she keeps taking the form of an animal that I assume is a pine marten. Sorry if all that seemed really weird. But I don't think I could talk about this stuff to anyone else cuz they'd think I was crazy. You probably do, too, but maybe you've had an argument with yourself, or heard your conscience, and you can try to hear your own dæmon and then I'll have a friend involved, too…

By the way, it's a week since you called me and you haven't been online since. I guess the promise was broken?
