You Saved Me
Lonely tears would constantly stream down my eyes
like a lost river hoping to find its way.
I thought there would be no end to my silent cries
Mainly because there was no one to understand my pain.
This pain was something I could not bare,
something that clenched my heart with its every beat.
That is when my only emotions would appear:
Anger...
fear...
sorrow...
I felt lost in defeat.
Then something strange had occurred.
I could feel an odd feeling form in my gut.
My face had made an odd gesture
and I realized I was smiling, but for what?
This smile was never planned,
something that was never meant to be.
But then I saw you outstretch a hand
and that you were smiling back down at me.
