After a few minutes, Edward finished cleaning the dishes as well as the table. "So, Rose... You still haven't told me why you came down. Having trouble sleeping?" he mentioned once again.

Edward gasped silently while scrubbing the plates "Ummm..." he uttered then turned around and wore a fake smile "Yeah, everything's perfectly fine" he lied.

Edward tapped his head lightly "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. I-I was just thinking about something" he responded then took the remaining dishes to the kitchen for washing.

Edward turned around as the familiar voice was calling out his name. He spotted Rose descending "Oh, Rose. What are you doing up? I thought you'd gone to bed already" he said looking a bit surprised.

Due to his reflexes he instantly stood up grabbed Winry's hand before she could make her way to the kitchen. He was wearing a very worried face when he looked at her. But soon after he looked down, loosened his grip then eventually released her hand.

The unpleasant aura prolonged which puts Edward into an awkward and uneasy state. He just forced himself to continue eating his dinner patiently. Although he plans to talk things over with Winry eventually.

"I wouldn't really classify it as exciting. Just roaming around town and enjoying the sights and shops" he responded without looking at her "So how's your work coming along?" he mentioned.

Edward smiled at Winry's compliment "Thank you" he said as he served himself a plate and started eating. However, he could still sense a small barrier between the two of them.

It didn't take long for Edward to finish preparing them. He brought the food over to the table, set out the utensils and plates and lastly invited Winry to join. "Let's eat!" he exclaimed joyfully.

"Not hungry, huh? And what do you call that?" he chuckled a little and slightly teasing her. "Alright, I'll go and prepare us dinner" he said and walked over to the kitchen.

Edward was terrified at Winry's tone "W-We just roamed around town and visited any shops that interests her" he responded "W-Why do you sound so angry?" he inquired.

Edward immediately apologized to Winry "Did I make you worry?" he grew saddened.

"Uhhh.. S-Sure thing, I'll see you again tomor---" he was unable to finish his sentence when Rose suddenly stole another kiss on his cheek. He just remained silent as he made his way to the table; slightly blushing.

"Yeah, you're right. Winry might clobber me to death for making her wait so longer" he agreed and started heading back.

After a short while, Ed and Rose came knocking at the door "Hey, Winry! Sorry we're late. We kinda lost track of time"

Edward just sweatdropped as he listened to Rose's explanation. Later, they continued with their tour until it was already around 7 in the evening.

He took a deep breath to calm his nerves until all that frustration finally subsided. "Don't worry about it, Rose. It's nothing" he said calmly after giving her the bag.
