About

Son of Tyche, Greek goddess of Chance and a dashing human rogue, Tycho is the physical embodiment of the great wager. A spirit of chance, a being who thrives on the thrill of gambling, of risking it all on the roll of a dice or flip of a coin. He has travelled many planes during his lifetime, and now finds himself in Gaia.

Tycho is calm and stoic, often emotionless and manipulative. He can be reckless however, and is the kind of person who tries almost anything once. He enjoys nothing more than placing and taking part in wagers and bets, although this can sometimes get him into more trouble than he bargained for...

Skills, Abilities and Equipment

Tycho has agility and stamina surpassing that of a normal human, equal to an Olympic gold medallist. He is well versed in martial arts and is comfortable delivering and deflecting blows at close range, he is however not particularly strong and as such it is very unlikely he would ever win an encounter with a 'worthy' opponent simply by using melee.

The Charlatans Cane
Tycho’s cane is made of lightweight Adamantium, and is most often used as a one handed blunt weapon. His fighting style whilst using it is most reminiscent of a Chinese sword style. It is magically imbued and is used in tandem with some of the demon dice powers (Mimic Weapon and Shadow Barbs)

Demon Dice – Kuro (Black with White dots) and Shiro (white with Black dots)
Two Possessed dice, which bestow random magical abilities to Tycho when he rolls them. Each has it's own personality and speaks to Tycho, in voices only he can hear. Kuro is a cynical and sarcastic spirit, dark in nature, whilst Shiro is a naive and often chirpy spirit, goodhearted and pure in nature. If anyone else were to come into contact with the dice they will be instantly assaulted with powerful energy. The dice are bound to Tycho and refuse to be touched or manipulated by any other force. Anyone or anything attempting to move or otherwise interfere with the dice will find them to be immeasurably heavy.
Over the centuries the dice have become an extension of Tycho's being, and as such he can pass them through his own body at will. This can be seen as switching which hand he is holding them in mid combat, or even simply drawing them to his hand from his pocket without moving.
When using the dice each result can only be obtained once per encounter, with subsequent rolls of the same number having no effect.

Snake Eyes – Nothing happens
3-4 - Mimic Weapon – Brilliant Energy The Charlatans cane transforms into an exact replica of a chosen enemies weapon. It does not feature any inherent abilities of said weapon, however it is made from Brilliant Energy and as such ignores all resistances and Damage reductions
5-6 - Shadow Barbs From the end of the Charlatans cane grows a spiked chain of dark shadow energy. Used as a whip like weapon it deals massive damage to it's target as well as a small amount of damage to Tycho. It also radiates darkness in a 10 foot radius.
Lucky 7 - Magic Missiles The upward facing dots of the Demon Dice glow an azure blue, and from each of the 7 a projectile of energy flies forth, locked on to a target.
8-9 - Super Speed Energy resonates from the dice and flows through Tychos body, allowing him to move at incredible speed.
10-11 - Holy Flames Tycho's hair and hands become engulfed in flickering blue flames, which he can shoot forth and manipulate.
12 - Scourge of the Horsemen (Caster level 20) A powerful energy radiates from the dice and under direction from Tycho expands over a certain area. The area is blasted with a horrific combination of soul-rending energy and physical corrosion. Creatures in the area of effect gain debuffs to their defence and take massive damage.

The Coin of Life and Death
An old Aztec gold coin, one side features the image of Huehueteotl, god of life and the other Mictlantecuhtli, god of death. Flipping the coin causes it to hum with energy, and once it settles energy pours from its face, either revitalising Tycho or draining him.
Heads – Tycho gains 3 d8 HP and becomes charged with positive energy.
Tails – Tycho loses 3 d4 HP and becomes charged with negative energy.

The Stacked Deck
A deck of marked cards, made of a strange lightweight material that allows them the illusion and feel of regular playing cards, but are razor sharp and can be used as deadly thrown weapons.

9 Lives
Tycho’s extraordinary luck allows him the ability to stave off even the most mortal of wounds from time to time. The first time he would be reduced to 0 HP, he is reduced to 1HP instead.

Lucky son of a...
Sometimes, in times of need Tyche shines down her favour on her son, allowing him to display extraordinary powers of fortune. Once a day (replenished by resting 8 hours) Tycho may choose the result of 1 flip of the Coin of Life and Death, and one result of a roll of the demon dice (as it is his ultimate attack, he may never select 12 this way).
