Tigereye Smoke was the second son and third child of a noble family. Being an unnecessary extra, his parents sent him to live with his cousin, Amethyst, who had earned the title of Great Mage in a far away kingdom.

Tiger is sixteen. He likes riding horses, goofing off, and harassing his cousin and her 'apprentice' the unreformed thief, Zyx. He also enjoys being terrorized by his cousin's familiar, a strange beast called 'Siggy'.
