Definitely practice, and use it whenever you can. The more you use a language the more it improves.

I think the speaking is better practice than the writing. I read aloud from foreign texts and I sing foreign language songs all the time.

Nice. I took three years of French, I was even la chou-chou the teacher's pet. I know bits and pieces of Polish, Japanese, Russian, Serbian, German, Italian...not enough to me truly useful, but enough to have a start. I'm working on getting fluent in Mandarin right now.

I suppose you have a point, but my rule of thumb still remains "If the Doctor doesn't like them, neither do I." He should know who's on what side after all.

True, there is pain. But that's universal I think. Weeping Angels feel pain. Demons and angels can be made to feel pain. But I also think part of the problem with humans is that they are human. Supernatural creatures and aliens aren't, so ther's something of a disconnect that makes them easier to kill.

It isn't that the supernatural and the alien have patterns, it's that they have rules and once you learn the rules you have a fighting chance. Humans have no such rules.

Yikes. I feel like I'd rather have something supernatural or extraterrestrial after me instead of a regular human psycho. I know how to deal with the supernatural and the alien, but humans are a whole other set of issues.

You're quite welcome. Also, when you see a statue, especially an angel statue or one that's covering its eyes or both, especially an angel statue covering its eyes, do not take your eyes off it, because it's not a statue. Not really anyway.
