My name is Nikolas Drosselmeyer. I have been called many things: a sorceror, a witch, a devil... Each, to some extent, is true. I am not like other men, which is why rational men fear me. My abilities cannot be explained.
As for myself, I am very old, older than most would expect. I am a magician, an engineer and a meddler. I designed the dreamships that travel between the worlds and located the girl who could return the Nutcracker Prince to his true form, but these things define what I am rather than who. Who am I, then? I am the enemy of der Rattenkönig, the Rat King, and all that threaten the safety or happiness of children. I am a wielder of the Deep Magic, one of the last to be born on this Earth. I am a friend of the fae, and a frequent visitor to the Land of Sweets. I am the one whose gaze you feel when no one is there, observing and guarding, sometimes guiding. I am the stranger on the streetcorner, there one moment, gone the next. I am the shadow that conceals you from unfriendly eyes and the candle flame that leads you through the darkest nights.
((For the record, this is a steampunk/clockpunk/alternate universe fantasy semi-cosplay. The character is taken from the Nutcracker, with added history and tech-geek appeal. Plus a healthy dose of creepiness.))
