Name: Unknown

Alias: The Mad Hatter, Lewis Carroll

Age: 100-ish. Appears mid 20's due to Wonderland stopping his time.

Gender: Male

Origin: England

Current Residence: Protected Cottage on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, which divides the land between the White and Heart Queen's territories.

Likes: Tea, March Hare, Doormouse, orders being followed, toughness, not being disturbed

Dislikes: Clocks ticking, strangers, tea time being interrupted, everyone else in Wonderland, cute things, feigned innocence

Preferred Weapon: Saber and throwing knives

Skills: Understands protective magical wards [taught by the White Queen], Master Swordsman [for nearly a century], Extremely intelligent [unfortunately his paranoia and other madness prevent him from thinking clearly most of the time]

Personality: Extremely antisocial, Hatter refuses to associate with anyone outside of his small cottage that he shares with the March Hare and Doormouse. He seems to have a nervous disorder that compels him to drink tea upon meeting someone new. The sound of ticking clocks makes him extremely anxious, and prone to fits of violence.

The subject of his past is extremely taboo, Hare and Doormouse seem to be the only ones who know about it, and refuse to share on the subject. Hatter is skeptical of anyone he meets outside his 'hermit family'. He's cynical, paranoid, and quick to anger. For those who manage to look past his faults though, he does have a strong sense of loyalty, and would gladly do anything for his 'hermit family'. However, you'll never hear him voice such a fact, nor ever admit to it if inquired.

History: Unlike some residents in Wonderland, he came from the other side of the looking glass. He was a father, husband, and soldier in the Great War, fighting for liberty and doing all he could to protect his wife and two sons. The year was 1915 when he was somehow transported to Wonderland. He encountered the White Queen, whom he assumed was an Angel, and was put in the care of her best men.

For some time, Hatter thought he had died, that his life had ended in the war, and he had moved on to heaven. However, he soon learned that was not the case. A war was going on in this place, one the White Queen called 'Wonderland'. She had need for his skills. There were no guns in this war. It seemed Wonderland was still in the age of steel. Hatter was fortunate enough to put his swordsman skills to use, ones that had been taught to him by his late grandfather. His skills only sharpened with the Queen's guidance.

It was thought that he'd be the hero to save the Kingdom, to end the war. His experience in the Great War offered insight and strategies that the Queen of Hearts' army had never seen before. He shared whatever knowledge he could, lead on by the promise that once he was done, he would be returned home to his family.

That day never came though. Hatter kept fighting, for years and years. Known as the only man to survive the Jabberwocky, in a final confrontation, he sliced an eye of the monstrous man, before being near-mortally wounded himself. He was saved my his friend, the Hare, and has spent the days since hiding away, paranoid and spiteful of the world around him.
