I hope the item does you well.
You costume design, is it your own company? Do you do a lot of work for musicals?
There seriously needs to be a movie!!
Isn't the newest hobbit kind of hilarious in a sad way? I have this feeling of love and nausea associated with it.
...Actually I just wanted to make a joke about computer literacy. I think that in order to sound computer literate, it's probably something different than 1337 speak. LIKE~
If we were actually talking in computer speak~P
Hi, How are you! =
syso(Hello world); Query(you, state-of-being);
God, that Hobbit movie gave me a feeling of nausea and happiness. (Happiness at the lines remembered, nausea at the canon breaks, Happiness at Tauriel's compelling story, Nausea because Tauriel didn't exist and kind of takes away from Thorin's ...you know, demise...)
swear(); Hobbit.feels = nausea, smile ; H.y = lines remembered, !canon, Tauriel.story, !Taurel;
Alternatively, write everything in hex. Ouch. But when we were little, we used our calculators to write stuff, and that was really amusing. :3
May I ask the reason for this rage (like a bad experience? Or it just rubs you the wrong way)? I've noticed a lot of people get very annoyed by it. I myself do not--- I did actually use chat speak in the context of AIM messenger in middle school. But I've never really had any bad experiences.
Ooh, I should probably go see it then. So, Snow White and the Huntsman (which looked really cool from the trailers) was actually really bad? Thank you for the rec!
Oh my god, why does your book taste match mine almost exactly? The ones that you've mentioned that I've read I love to bits! (Except for Gregory Macguire XD. But I only read the beginning of his version of Cinderella, so that may be it.) You've named a good portion of my favorites that sit on my bookshelf - Discworld collection (I'm short of a few books ;P), Garth Nix collection (sadly not as big as the disc world, but much loved), Xanth ( I got the first book recently, it's great!), Into the Land of the Unicorns--- The Dark is Rising... XD I should probably pay close attention to everything you rec!
Have you read Good Omens? Who are your favorite characters/books in the Discworld? I have a fondness for Death--- and a multitude of other characters biggrin . Do you ever get the feeling that Nobby isn't actually that stupid? I mean, he's definitely not the brightest bulb but... (Barely anyone I know knows Discworld! *happy can Discworld discuss*) What do you think Death's hourglass looks like? (Have we seen it yet...? I can't recall.) Do you think it looks similar to the Hogfather's?
How do you see the Tiffany Aching books intersecting with the Discworld books? I haven't read as much of those, so I get confused about how they fit together. Poor old Sam Vimes, being promoted all the time. Do you think it's possible for Vetinari to promote him higher? A lot of people seem to be theorizing Vetinari is grooming Moist or Sam Vimes as his successor, what do you think?
I'll check out Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices. Could you describe Lunar Chronicles a bit more, if you wouldn't mind?
Have you read any of Tamora Pierce's work? biggrin
thanks for all the recs! biggrin
It makes you wonder if maybe that was simply a German description of beauty. I k now that Juniper tree was in the original Grimm's tales, my book doesn't seem to have snow white, but if it does-- maybe I can't recall, I haven't read that dear old thing in a while. But I recall that the description wasn't as emphasized to me for some reason. I'm not sure why. What types of fairy tales/folk tales do you read?
So, you *would* recommend Maleficient? Was the story good? What other TV/movies do you think are good in that genre?
Are there any tales/books that you would recommend that are good plays off of fairy tales? Which books in that genre do you like/are your favorites? I'm a sucker for those kinds of things. Books aimed towards children are fair game for me too... I love Patricia Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles, don't care what anyone says!
Well, anything not by um... the author of Wicked, Gregory Macguire. I did really try to read his books, but for some reason, they weren't clicking all that well. But I only read his version of Cinderella, so it could have specifically been just that verison of Cinderella that I didn't like. Unless there are some by Gregory Macguire that you think are really good and some that are really bad, which happens, definitely. ..I probably misspelled his name, haha.
Don't you find it just interesting that the Juniper Tree's description of the young boy and Snow White's description match up in the modern-and-known Snow White? Do you recall if Snow White actually had that description?
