I'm probably better known by the name I used to go by. The Flame Alchemist. Formerly the youngest Brigadier General in the Amestrian Army, I resigned my commission and turned in my State Alchemist watch when the new government was established after the death of Fuhrer King Bradley.There weren't any witnesses to contradict my former adjutant's spin doctoring of the situation, and as far as anyone knows, Frank Archer went mad and killed the Fuhrer, killing his son as well and seriously wounding me in the process as I attempted to protect them.
Nice story. Not the way it happened, by a long shot.
I haven't worn my gloves since that day. The Flame Alchemist died in that fire.
I'm just Roy Mustang now. And for all the people who paid prices far too dear under Bradley's rule, I'm trying to keep the new government on the right path.
Nobody learned.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Still, I wonder if it's worth it anymore.
