Catwoman is a fictional character associated with DC Comics' Batman franchise. The supervillain was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, partially inspired by Kane's second cousin by marriage, Ruth Steel .
The original and most widely known Catwoman, Selina Kyle, first appears in Batman #1 (Spring 1940) in which she is known as The Cat. As an adversary of Batman, she was a whip-carrying burglar with a taste for high-stake thefts.
Hyenas are opportunistic feeders and obligate carnivores. Contrary to popular belief, hyenas hunt more than they scavenge. Most people picture hyenas as lowly scavengers that steal kills from lions, when it is more often that the reverse is true; lions steal more hyena kills than hyenas steal from the lions.
Although hyenas appear similar to dogs, they are actually more closely related to cats. They live throughout much of Africa and eastwards through Arabia to India. Spotted hyenas live together in large groups called clans that may include up 80 individuals and are led by females.
Spotted hyenas have good hearing and sharp eyesight at night. They are fast and can run for long distances without tiring. Packs work together effectively to isolate a herd animal, sometimes one that is ill or infirm, and pursue it to the death. The victors often squabble over the spoils, either among themselves or with other powerful animals like lions.
