Goku is a heretical demon, marked as such by his golden eyes. He's extremely friendly and upbeat; not to mention powerful. His appetite is insaitiable; his mind innocent and niave. He was found by Sanzo in a cave, which he had been locked in for five hundred years with no memories of why or how he was there. Now, he goes wherever Sanzo goes, which is currently on a trip west to India with fellow companions Gojyo and Hakkai. He fights with his own strength and a summon weapon called Nyoi-bo. When his demon limiter (the gold coronet on his forehead) breaks, or is removed, he becomes a bloodthirsty and violent beast who is unable to control himself.
