i'm not technically a brass player, but my friend..who's the first chair trumpet player in my band, is teaching me to play trumpet. he says don't make your lips buzz..(so if you don't have the mouthpiece to your lips, when you blow air it shouldn't make a buzzing sound) you should make a little hole in your lips for the air to come out..when you press your lips to the mouthpiece though, this will make a really good buzz...and you don't have to have wet lips...(pm me if you don't understand, i'll have him explain it)

QUIT SPREADING YOUR BLASPHEMY!!!! clarinet and saxophone(and ANY wind instrument for that matter) can flutter tongue!!! i've even had music with flutter tongue written in(for my sax and clarinet >_> wink so don't tell me i can't do something that i can, and love to do.
