Apparently, I'm either stalking Genkai Taught Me Well's profile, or he's stalking me. Profile Who knew? Although it does seem a bit weird. sweatdrop

My point exactly.

I really miss the days when I played Video Games as a kid/pre-teen. Now, everyone seems to complain about everything and anything. When it didn't seem as apparent as it is today. Nothing is forcing anyone, into anything, if they have a 'choice' in the matter. Take away that choice and then they'd have a valid complaint. Like that Mariko Kart 8 DLC I talked about people in this Topic where it comes from are acting like Nintendo has finally joined the DLC bandwagon or paid DLC. I don't have a 3DS/Wii U but I know that Nintendo has been doing either paid/free DLC before this Mercedez Benz deal partnership even came to be. I don't even understand where Downloadable Content outside of the game begins and Disc Locked Content begins. I'm sure you've heard the complaints people have of day-one DLC should be in the game on day one/release or they shouldn't have to pay for Disc Locked Content when it's been proven to still be on the disc.

Have you ever heard of BlazeIn3D/BlazeIn3B? They happen to be the same guy but he likes to pretend he's two different people. Anyways, he's changed his name now to Bad News Blaze from MikeyIce9. While I'm horrible at math, I find it funny how it was so easy to anatagonize him with his sweeping generalizations and horrible math. Where everybody who posts in the VGD is now a 'fan' of Nintendo whether they happen to be or not. I also pointed out how he's now included himself as a 'fan' since only about 0.98% is left, and I don't even think that's enough for anyone else NOT to be a fan of Nintendo. Doesn't he (Blaze) even realize that there's a difference between being a 'fan' and being a 'fanboy/girl'? Ironically, he happens to be an 'Anything to do with Microsoft Gaming' kind of guy.

I think 'Games aren't difficult anymore' is also an overreaction. Not everyone single game is unique and caters to the masochistic Dark Souls crowd or even needs to. I don't see the point in being frustrated or pissed off at a game. I want to enjoy the games that I play, and I don't want them to feel like a chore either. Perhaps, the Indie scene has some more difficult games besides the AAA games that are advertised or people could also go back to the earlier eras and play those games again. I fail to see the logic in how 'Games' as a whole, are no longer challenging or difficult. I actually do believe that after years of playing games people learn what to do and what not to do and that might also mean that games also feel the same from whatever they just finished playing.

Just wanted to discussion what I've been seeing in the VGD and as whole of the 'Gaming Community'

Besides the 'sense' of entitlement that people have, I'm beginning to also hate the 'I'm being forced into getting/playing everything' sense by so and so developer. Currently, it's the newest DLC for Mario Kart 8 (Which is only in Japan for right now gives you a FREE Mercedez Benz to drive) And how they all act like the (Kinect 2, Ground Zeroes, Limited/Collector's editions, two versions of a game all have to be bought up by them or else, Watch Dogs Multiplayer etc.) If you happen to have a 'choice' in the matter then nobody is forcing you into anything. The main reason behind the outrage for the 'Mercedez Benz' DLC is that it looks too 'realistic' for a Cartoonish/Unrealistic game like Mario Kart 8. I'll even admit that the Kinect 2 was forced on people, but after the rollback and policy changes of the Xbox One, you could completely turn it off, pause it, unplug it, turn the camera off etc. You didn't even have to use it at all. If you have a choice in the matter, then you aren't being 'forced' to use it as much as people want to believe. Then you have the complainers like what we discussed in our Ground Zeroes PM's.

Plus, there's this post I made since an old 'Residential Troll' came back to visit. it's not that hard to antagonize Blazein3D (MikeyIce9) with the truth and math.((He also still continues to deny that he's also Blazein3B) because that's not hard to figure out. Trolls stick together. ). The art of deception was never his forte and he even PM'ed me on the other account to justify that he wasn't on in the same. Oddly enough, when he's around so is the alternate account, when he's not around neither is the alternate account.

I know you were joking I was just adding onto what all the 'Judgmental' people assume as to why a person would play a game like it. I'm sure you plan on trying to embarrass your boyfriend which Is all in good fun. As a fan of Rune Factory/Harvest Moon as well I enjoy the dating sim aspect and marriages that happen in these games and games like it. I just don't take it to extreme levels like others do (Like our friendly neighborhood Titties) I really wish I had a 3DS so I could get back into playing Harvest Moon/Rune Factor and whatever else I'm interested in. I plan on getting one later but I really wish they'd announce a new game in the series for both systems or at least exclusive to the Vita. I know there's PSP titles but I want something new, ya know?

I don't depend on them either at least when it comes to those that have been professionally done. I usually go to YouTube and find whatever reviewers I've seen before or who happens to be doing one for a game I'm interested in. It's just annoying, because it's not like it's anything new. Which makes me think like they're just reviewing the game to get it off their plate and onto something else they really like or they happen to be deadset against "This shouldn't be in any game" emotion_donotwant I've yet to see anything in the PS Vita library that actually lands in porn territory or the Japanese equivalent. At best it's either ecchi or borderline.

Nevertheless, I feel like they should at least do it 'more' or at the least not do it at all. If your game isn't going to revolve around Sexual Themes, Swearing, Innuendo I don't see the point in putting it into the game. Although while I can handle it, I'd still like for them to either do more with it or do without it. I can understand the frustration with the people who don't enjoy somebodies else's prefrences when they other person happens to be forcing it on them. Though that doesn't happen the majority of the time.

I've only ever enjoyed the first two Mass Effect games. I couldn't get into the last games story. By the way, I forgot to say congratulations on the Job if you ever do get it. Let me know if any of the games ever land on the Android/Google Play market and I'll support them if you happen to get it. In other news, I'm no longer 'technically' in High School. I had some credits to make up over the year and I've completed what was left and they found some excess stuff that I'd already completed. So, while I was still finishing up what was left, I actually graduated in 2013. lol

Got a response from that guy in that PS Vita thread.
Quote:
It's not that I don't like anime or Japanese RPGs it's that I don't like RPGs where it's text upon text upon text where missions or battles never last and then it's back to more text.
Trying to think of any JRPG/RPG that isn't like this. neutral

Just like Conception II, I plan on playing Valhalla Knights 3 only because I happen to be interested in the game and not exactly only in it for the 'Red Light District'. I actually don't understand the majority of the censorship/controversy these games get. Like for Bravely Default all that censorship just for it to probably never end up in a 'Kid's' hands. I've still yet to see a kid who'd play an extensive RPG/JRPG in general. I've never been one to drool over pixels or 'Waifu Material 101' even though I'm not afraid to admit that these Anime-inspired JRPG characters aren't at all ugly. (Unless drawn that way like Hanako in Persona 4: Golden)

I wouldn't be surprised if that PS Vita topic we were both in was created by a guy who can't see why a person would be interested in Japanese games/Anime in general. Its one thing to not be interested in it, but it's something else to just hate on it and hate on people who happen to like it. Then you like the current state of the VGD and the toxicity of some gamers who can't understand why someone didn't enjoy the game as much as them, or why they aren't interested in playing it etc. It's all about being trolled or brow-beat to them. I miss the days when people would just play a game as a game with no strings attached or judged for playing them. “Oh, you’re interested in this Japanese game, let’s have them locked up or they must just be in it for gratification.”

Then you have the reviews that I hate are when the 'reviewers' themselves bring in their beliefs into the review. "Yeah, we get that Conception II has 'sexual themes' you don't need to harp on for 5 paragraphs about how it's only for pre-pubescent teenagers. We already know this stuff has been going on for years and years where have you been? Obviously, not watching any Japanese Anime or playing any other JRPG's with the same themes. It's nothing new. Although, I'm even willing to admit that some of the fanservice can be rather in your face (Bullet Girls, Senran Kagura) Everything else seems rather tame in comparison. The other thing I hate is simplistic touching/rubbing mini games while I see the hilarity in them, I also don't really see a point in them.

The other thing I have a problem with is sexual/innuendo/double entendre Tales of Xilla does this before the endgame with skits. Where they have Milla and Maxwell get mad at Jude for tethering with Muzet. Where they end up acting like the subject of tethering is some kind of sexual gratification or pleasure for Muzet or any other type of Spirit. I have no problems with these kind of "themes" I'm just saying if you're going to do it at least do it more frequently/handle it better or not at all (In your game). What little there is of it sounds rushed or just put in there for comical or just any type of any other effect. This can also be applied to swearing if you’re going to put something like the above and ‘this’ in your game don’t do it so sparingly at least have the inative to do it throughout the game.

Don't get me wrong, I can handle the stuff as long as it's not every other word (Steven Segal Movies). I just feel like when it was handled in Mass Effect when Jack appeared it was handled horribly. I don't know if it was her voice actor, personality or what but it sounded forced and the whole idea sounded out of place in the Mass Effect universe.

Now, I don't mind discussing the PS Vita or any of my systems or games for that matter. When a Person's reasons for disliking the recent Persona series are "copy paste animu characters and story with slow sub-par turn based battles." I can't help but roll my eyes at that. The guy also happens to be shoving and touting Soul Sacrifice as the Vita's one and only 'BEST' GAME IN THE WORLD!. Although it's probably my fault, for wanting to have a great discussion in the current state of the VGD. It's either spam, crap-posting and trolls or a combination of all three. Which is where I posted in that guys thread saying

Reno Takamiya
I've found plenty to keep me occupied with my Vita. (Shinobido 2, Silent Hill: Book Of Memories, Gravity Rush, Rayman Origins, Hot Shots Golf, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Persona 4 Golden and Dynasty Warriors NEXT) I've played other games but I didn't like them as much to keep them. I am interested in Conception II, Valhalla Knights 3 and YS: Memories of Celceta. It depends highly on your preferences but I think people can find more than P4: Golden if they're an owner of a Vita. Tales Of Heart R, Sword Art Online and FF-X/X2 might be a reason for others to take the plunge who're interested in the niche aspect.

The rest of what I've played happen to be in my GamerCard. I've yet to play Soul Sacrifice but I did get it off of Playstation+ so all I need is a subscription. Even though you didn't like Persona 4, I didn't find the 'animu' characters to be copy & pasted and I also didn't find the Turn Based battles to be all that slow or sub-par. Different strokes for different folks. If you really want copy & pasted animu characters look at Time and Eternity. I can't even remember the last time I played a game that had a Fast-Paced turned-based battle system. Except for in Persona's case it's not slow but it's not fast either. Since you have the All-Out Attack, Rush option and Persona's and the strategy aspect. Maybe the turn-based battle system is just not for you?

Then there's a reality concerning the PS Vita that people aren't wiling to accept. Most notably in the VGD 'Because it's cool to be internet cool'

Reno Takamiya
Even I'll admit it's not doing well, but it's getting games slowly, but surely. Even the Vita has games that utilize it's tech. Uncharted: Golden Abyss, AC: Liberation, Gravity Rush, Little Deviants, Mortal Kombat and others. (Gyroscope. Augmented/Virtual Reality, Touch Controls etc.) The Vita reminds of the Wii U, in the way of Marketing I always see 3DS/2DS commercials but hardly for Wii U if any. The only Wii U commercials I've ever seen were on YouTube and even those only advertise first-party games. Where are my RPG's/JRPG's? At least the Vita still has the region-free aspect going for it.

While it's true that the 3DS has far more third-party support than the Vita in the states. If you take the time to look at the full library's of the games in both regions you'd see that the Vita beats the current 3DS library by at least 53 games in Japan. If only they took the time to bring out a lot more of that library then things would get better.

Ah, I had no idea Skype was also used as a messenger. I've only ever equated it with calls via video or audio. Yeah it's a shame that I went in getting the DSi in hopes that it would have it's own set of games. The only thing they did different was add the two cameras and load it with shovelware games. The ability to record your voice and play around with it and some other stuff. It was to me, a step back since they didn't exactly think it through. I was actually stuck with whatever they put on the digital store or DS games.

I don't understand how a person can get so fanatic over a specific console. I don't see the point in shortening your gaming experience with anything. Most of the time they'll usually hate on the competitors console just for the sake of it and without trying it. I've played on the SNES and N64 and all the way up to the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. However, I've never really owned an Original Xbox and I think a few others. My first handheld happened to be the purple see-through Game Boy color with a copy of Pokemon Yellow and then I moved on to the GBA SP. Then got a DS and then a PSP and a PS Vita and what I have now.

Stress isn't my friend either. I was actually taken out of school one year, because I developed a stress rash. And having a learning disability doesn't exactly help in most cases. Besides my disability though I'm still able to do pretty much everything (Except Math) I'm actually on the higher functioning spectrum. So I don't really need all the coddling that most people give to others that really need it. I haven't touched any of my consoles or handhelds in awhile. I am interested in Killer is Dead and Dark though, which I can hopefully get at the right price. My local GameStop actually has the collector's/limited edition for Killer is Dead for $30.00 NEW but I don't exactly have an idea if it comes with everything.

While it would be interesting to Skype, my shyness prohibits me from doing that. I have a Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita and also a Tablet. I've had a DS in the past which I liked and I upgraded to the DSi which was a mistake. Pretty much because Nintendo announced there would be exclusive games just for it but it never happened. My PSN username happens to always be in my signature though if you want to add me. I plan on getting all the consoles and handhelds as I can. I've never been a person for one more than the other. Although, I do understand that some companies do things better then the competition.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Shame you can't have your cake and eat it too! Have you ever tried looking for Cakes without dairy products or making one of your own? I'd hate being allergic to such a large food group. I can't even think If I am allergic to any types of Food. I do know that there used to be Cheetos that used to turn your tongue green. I was actually allergic to those since they blew up my lips. I haven't seen them sold for awhile so maybe whatever turned your tongue green was the trigger for a lot of people.

Oh that's fine. Life, Family, Work obviously come first.

What I really wanted to know is why the Unreal Engine in games cause textures to go all fuzzy and then pop in when you load up a new area or load a saved game. It's not gamebreaking but it is an odd thing to see.

I've always wondered this, why do you think Video Games of this generation used the Unreal Engine for most of the games? Is it easier than say The Fox Engine that they use in Metal Gear Solid or what other engines they'll use in other AAA titles? I've also played a few games that use Unreal Engine 3. Which also suffer from Textures in the environment going all fuzzy and then popping back in again when you load a new area or load a save. Do you know what causes that? I know that Pop-In can happen to the more polished games as well but it doesn't happen as frequently as it does with Unreal. sweatdrop
