About
I worship Hera as my Goddess, but my teacher(IRL. He's an awesome guy. My cuz set me up with a guy who found out about my religion and has a friend who practices it in the US near where I live. Said guy is really awesome and actually knows his stuff about the Greek gods. He respects that I worship the virgin Hera, which is actually pretty good since I was warned that there are some sketchy arse pagan teachers out there who discouraged people from being "chaste" to worship their Goddess and are just total creeps. He's actually the one who suggested the Chasity part since it's hard to worship a virgin Goddess if you're having sex to fully understand her. However, I am welcome to date people and am getting along really well with said teacher's friend/cousin's ex boyfriend. Just nothing further than 2nd base with other people! sad Of course, if I slip up, all I need to do is shower before any rituals. But, it's a nice little personal goal.) wants me to discover my religion thru proper resources. I'm agreeing to not go on Gaia for a year and a day from tomorrow.xXxBlack-Flower97xXx has permission to use my account, as does anyone she sees fit to let use my account.
In this time, I hope to fully discover my religion deeply, and gain a firmer grip on life. I am only to use a computer for 1 hour a day, excluding talking to RL friends and even that must be planned in advance. I am to focus on my studies, and encouraged to use the 1 hour for looking up things on Hellenismos, and practicing moderation. Hopefully, this will help me further understand Hera as the internet is more something the unbulled Hera would use. I am also encouraged to play music outdoors to see if any other spirits choose to speak to me as I am of Scottish ancestry and according to a few Celtic reconstructionalists, seem like the sort the Fey may choose to bless with wisdom. (Blonde born of brunettes, several birthmarks I have, ability to play violin, thin fingers, very fair skin born of very tanned parents and such.) If the Fey choose to bless me with their wisdom, I will accept it with grace, but I am not planning on living with them under the hills. There is absolutely nothing against taking the advice of the Fey among most Celtic Recons, though one must be careful with them. As it appears I am not on their bad side, I am strongly encouraged to try to communicate with them to a degree if I can, because it may lead to a degree of enlightenment.
I used to be an atheist, and now worship Hera. The reason tomorrow was chosen is that it's a day to worship Hecate, the goddess of Witches.(Who isn't exactly a triple Goddess persay.) It's hard to admit to not being an atheist any more, but I'm slowly coming out of the broom closet as I discover more and more. I am very thankful my ex boyfriend helped me discover it truly was Hera and I am forever indebted to him to showing me this.
My stance on Gaia and religion. Gaia is not a reputable source. I have been mislead here to a degree, even in the "pagan" guilds, who did not offer any real advice and encouraged feelings of radicalism in non political manners and encouraged poor morals such as being angry at others and accepting books as the only valid source. The Theoi do not work like that as I am discovering. Books are useful to check your sanity, and to get an idea of what the Theoi have told other people as to who they are and how to worship them. They are NOT the be all end all for the Greek Theoi. I've been given succor here though by the occasional person, and that is probably why I discovered the other forums and got the courage to mention my issue to my ex boyfriend who guided me thru this. (For the record, my ex boyfriend is one of my best friends, we just weren't sexually compatible. So, there's not really any tension there.) Thank you for that, and thank you for showing me one sort of neopagan which is quite rare. I have set up a guild on Hellenic neopaganism, and hopefully it will continue.
My stance on Gaia in general. Fun site, interesting ideas, but very misleading at times.

Happy (early) Halloween to you as well
as for gaia i dont think most of them are atheists, i just think those that are religios keep it quiet because the atheists are all very... agressive. this is one thing ive noticed, most predominantly in the american gaians, is the likelyhood of extreme views towards religion, and yeah both sides are very ignorant of the other, e.g. atheists will denounce what they think christians are, blame us for all sorts, and christians will presume all atheists are hating assholes, when ths is the case for niether. you may think religion is illogical, but if you just understand it in the right way youll atleast be able to understand it in the way that you can respect it.
as you can tell im also a psychologist, so i hope that might help a bit. i say psychologist, im studying it, though ive read a lot about freud, whos like the inventor of dream analysis, so i hope that helps. pm me anytime, though if you want to talk now i may need to wander off pretty sharpish... its getting late here and im tired and have to get up early tomorrow, but yeah ill discuss anything over a period of time, aka. the next few days, and im around most days to then add more to any discussion. im looking forward to your pm already :3
other than that have a good day :3
