Character Bio:
Name: Mattas
Age: 20 at the age of death.
death: unknown.
One day it was all over. Cut down, the next thing he knew was the cold silence of the afterlife. He couldn't remember a thing. Not even his own name. Sadness was all he felt now. In death the answers hadn't come. Confused, the soul of this angel must walk the heavens in an unending search for the truth to the life he never knew.. "Determined is the one who never gives up." Those words alone drive him to keep moving.
With nothing but determination, he decided to set forth. He wasn't sure why. He wasn't sure how, but now he faced a world even more frightening than his last. As if time stood still, he watched as the ghost of a small child passed him by. The boy kept walking, unaware anyone could see or hear him. Of course, he stopped when Mattas asked him his name. Bewildered, the boy answered in a shy, almost unnoticeable tone. "My name's Dizwan.." Then he just smiled. Seeing that made Mattas smile for the first time in what seemed an eternity to him.
The two talked for a great while. Then Dizwan asked if Mattas had ever heard of a place called "Soul Society". Mattas simply shook his head and said no. "Would you go with me?" the boy asked. "Sure, I'd like that." And so they decided it was time to see this place. But happiness never lasts. Right before their eyes, a dark portal opened and out spilled a monster. This was the first time Mattas had ever seen a hollow. The maniacal laugh from the monster was soul shattering. Fear was suddenly the heaviest emotion he'd ever felt. He could do nothing as the beast laughed and taunted the boy. "So you've found another one to protect you? Ha! you may have escaped last time, but you wont be so lucky this time."
The soul of the boy suddenly stopped, and he fell to his knees. With a new resolve, Mattas threw aside his fear. Losing this new friend was not an option. His eyes turned golden, and his heart pure. Any doubt that he had beforehand was replaced with a burning passion. A fire he could feel forming in his palm. As the fire in his heart grew, so did the fireball forming in his right palm.
With a single word, he sent the ball right to the center of the hollow. Unfortunately, it didn't kill, but angered the monster. The next thing he knew, Mattas was on his knees, with blood pouring down from a large wound in his stomach.
The feeling was all too familiar. It was the same feeling he felt the night he died. But how could this be? He already died. He couldn't die again, could he? Confusion swept his mind. His vision blurred. Another wound opened upon his upper back. He never even saw it coming. Was this really the end? Could it really end like this? With nothing solved.. and just as he found someone worth protecting..
That's when he appeared. A katana burst through the abdomen of the monster, causing a great deal of damage. Shocked, the hollow asked, "Who are.. you..?"
"I'm Garreto, and I'm hear to send your soul to hell. That's all you need to know." And with that, a final blow from the Katana split the hollow's head in two, and sent the monster threw the gates of hell.
"I'll see you two in Soul Society" was the last thing Mattas heard before he passed out.
