A passing face in the hallway
Here yesterday and still today
The lingering thought left on your tongue
The last lyric never sung
The whispered words behind your back
The missing piece you seem to lack
A shadow cast in a dark room
The broken thrown away broom
I'm but a figure in your mind
Only a thought you'll find
I will slip away but linger still
I'm so boring but bring a thrill
Unknown by many and known by few
Unpredicted, old, yet new
I am changeable, a swirling mist of a being
I am noticed yet unseen
I'm a self contradiction
A false non fiction
But I'm just a mask on the real face
I fit so perfectly but I'm out of place
If I spike your interest
Don't resist
The invitation to say hello
Then you'll know
If I'm a friend or foe
Well, wasn't that interesting?
I find myself writing things like that on occasion. I wouldn't mind if you simply just said hello, I'm not all that bad of a person. I tend to be really calm and collective.
And no, I'm not all this mysterious and interesting things like my poem makes you believe.
So like I said, if you really want to know, then drop a hello by me on your way out.
