c'est moi
Here and now: I'm kind of obsessed with The Joker and can't get enough of Joker-centric fanfiction. It's just that delicate combination of sex, death, and insanity that I find completely intoxicating.

Generally: A child of the 80's, media is a big part of my life; however, I am also a college graduate with a degree in English Literature, so reading and writing are second nature. Having spent half a year living in Auckland, New Zealand, and preferring the education system to that of the States, I almost always default to British spelling and punctuation.
~~~~~~~~~~
Politics: I am very far left (pro-choice, pro-GLBT, pro-gun control, anti-war, etc.), and find myself thinking quite positively about socialism, but I have some very right-thinking friends and acquaintances who tolerate me admirably all the same. I tend to fall on the side of jadedness and apathy most of the time, but that might just be my generation's darklight shining through me.
Religion: This is something that fascinates me to no end, but in which I have not--for the past decade or so--had reason to participate. It's important to know that I am quite happy just observing the practises of others (so control the urge to 'convert' me; many have tried and failed miserably). People should, however, feel free to share with me their own experiences; these things interest me scholastically.
I blog--to a fault, really. There are dry spells, but I can sometimes write two or three entries in the course of a day. That said, I probably will not faithfully update my Gaia blog. LiveJournal is my drug of choice, and has been since late 2001.
"Si le viol, le poison, le poignard, l'incendie,
N'ont pas encor brodé de leurs plaisants dessins
Le canevas banal de nos piteux destins,
C'est que notre âme, hélas! n'est pas assez hardie."
- Charles Baudelaire
"When the chips are down, these uh ... civilised people--they'll eat each other.
See, I'm not a monster ... I'm just ahead of the curve."
"Don't lower your mask until you have another mask prepared beneath--
as terrible as you like--but a mask.”
"Candy Corn is the only candy in the history of America that's never been advertised. And there's a reason.
All of the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911."
"In our two-party system, the Democrats are the party of no ideas and the Republicans are the party of bad ideas. It usually goes something like this: A Republican will stand up in Congress and say, 'I've got a really bad idea!' And a Democrat will immediately jump to his feet and declare, 'And I'm gonna make it shittier!'"
"... That's the kind of sentence that, when you hear it, your brain comes to a screeching halt. And the left-hand side of the brain looks at the right-hand side and goes, 'It's dark in here, and we may die.'"
- Lewis Black
