We're going to be aunts! xd I'll have to make something for the baby. I haven't been knitting much in the past few weeks. I usually knit while watching tv or dvds, and I haven't watched too many recently. As soon as I borrow Firefly, I'm going to start on my next project. lol

Big sister! xd *glomps* Guess what! I got to spend the weekend with my friend from Hong Kong. I haven't seen her in months, so we had a great time hanging out. I went with her to an authentic Chinese restaurant where they serve squid and seaweed and stuff. I also went to some Asian grocery stores with her and got snacks that I have no idea what they are. rofl How has your weekend been?

To be honest, I've only seen the first season and the first few episodes of the second season of the anime. I enjoyed the abridged episodes that I hadn't seen yet just as much as I enjoyed the rest of it. Trust me, the anime makes no sense whatsover. Don't waste your time watching it unless you just want to watch the first episode. One of the most hilarious things about it is that that show takes itself far too seriously. Little Kuriboh does a great job of making fun of it. You will also get to enjoy how he bashes 4kids (who did the dub for the anime) at every chance he gets. It was actually because of 4kids that his YouTube channel was banned, and the one he made to replace the original was banned too.

And, I guess my brain wasn't working at 4AM. DIC got the license for Sailor Moon, not 4kids. Actually, there was so much butchering of anime in the 80s and 90s that just about everything that aired on tv was overly censored. I can't remember who got the licensing for Dragon Ball Z, but that is probably the best example of blood changing color. There is a green alien character on the show who is an enemy at first, but soon becomes and ally. Whenever he gets hurt, they change it so he bleeds green, so it looks more like alien slime than blood. Everyone who is or normally human shape and coloring gets black blood. Have you watched any of Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series yet? They do a great job at pointing out the idiotic things that 4kids does, such as making "invisible guns." rofl You don't even have to be familiar with the series to appreciate the bad anime editing.

I almost forgot to mention some of the picture edits they did! rofl They went a bit crazy with making everything "non-offensive." They recolored the sailor senshi as they were transforming and removed body lines to make it look like they weren't naked (which they were). They turned Zoicite (a gay guy) into a girl on Sailor Moon. They turned blood black or green in various animes because red blood is bad. They edited out guns, cigarettes, etc. They edited monsters on Yu-Gi-Oh if any of the monsters even suggested that they might be even slightly anatomically correct. They changed skin colors of characters so they wouldn't appear racist. They edited out episodes in different series for stupid reasons such as the main character being slightly deviant. They took out any plot depth that any of the series had. They re-did the music so you are stuck with stuff like an English rap song for an opening to an anime about pirates. The stuff they did with anime was painful and to the point of criminal as far as most anime fans were concerned. Still, as bad as they were, I'm glad that they got rights to Sailor Moon instead of Saban. @_@ Just look at this 2 minute clip. After seeing what could have happened to it, it made me thankful that 4kids got the rights instead. But, I still would have preferred for someone like ADV to have gotten the rights from the beginning.

I forgot to mention Yu-Gi-Oh in that list of 4kids shows. They did such a bad job dubbing it that it was perfect fodder for little kuriboh to make fun of it. (It was ridiculous to begin with; 4kids just made it worse.)

Anyway.... sweatdrop I love that corset/skirt combo! The greens really go well together! rofl (Nice way to change the subject to something more pleasant that 4kids butchering anime.) xd

4Kids is the group that butchered every anime they could get their hands on in the 90s. They are the ones responsible for making Sailor Moon super shallow, for removing guns and stuff from Pokemon, for changing the focus of Cardcaptor Sakura from the heroine to the a male side character, and countless other monstrosities. They are very much hated within the anime world for trying to make all anime "safe" and "kid-friendly" even when some of the series weren't even intended for kids. They've edited plots to the point of making them barely recognizable. So, this hated dubbing group became the antagonists in the con's theme.

You're leaving already? I was looking up some Kami-Con videos to show you from this year. The theme this time was "censored." They bashed 4Kids the whole time, and they edited the con opening that was mimicking the second Death Note opening. rofl
