“Bittersweet Love”

The evening air was chilly as a gentle breeze blew by in the small park. The sun was slowly setting and after a while, it bid the horizon adieu and let the moon come in and watch over the Earth. The cherry blossoms that fell off the many Sakura trees were a beautiful sight. Kirina and her pet bat, Rorudan, were strolling around in the darkness. Her dark greenish-blue eyes looked around in the darkness and stared up at the stars. Kirina had in her right hand a beautiful red rose from her lover. Although the flower was weeks old, it still looked and smelled as if it had just been picked. She held it close to her heart as she still searched for him. Where could he be? She inhaled the scent of the rose deeply and sighed, feeling chills go up and down her spine. Its fragrance was enough to make the most heartless of people daydream of a life filled with the sweetest of romance.
Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks. It was him. No doubt about it. Those enchanting blue eyes she had fallen in love with. That smile that weakened her and brought her to her knees. His shoulder-length light brown hair was swaying lightly in the wind. She gave him a small smile and walked closer to him slowly. He wrapped his arms around her immediately when she came near and said, "I missed you so much. You’re the only person I need. Kirina, I love you. I love you so much more than I could ever express in words or actions. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. The only way want to die is in your arms.."
Kirina grinned as the breeze slowly began to pick up speed. She pushed him away from her. "You idiot! You think you can break my heart and then expect me to warm up to you afterwards? But don't worry. I'll give you the death you want." Before her lover could do anything, she grabbed him and strange red markings on the ground appeared and quickly became brighter and brighter. Then.. Kirina's lover slumped over and she let go. She stared at him when he hit the ground with a small thud. His once gorgeous eyes has turned a pitch-black. His skin was pale and getting colder. She looked carefully and saw a silent tear slide down from his eye. Right at that moment, she felt a sharp pain in her chest. But then she shook it off and walked away as the strong wind died down some. She left him soulless on the ground that cold night and left the rose on top of his corpse.
