About
Hi, I'm probably the oddest Grandmother out there. I am a belly dancer, have been for about 34 years. I teach belly dancing at a little bookstore and perform locally. I DID dance at a show 600 miles from home this summer. It's getting harder to travel that far and then dance, though. (Arthritis and all that fun stuff.)I'm also a witch, something I've been 'into' since I was in grade school. I'm only now getting any formal training. I know that sounds very sloppy and haphazard, but way back in the early 1960's, there weren't all the opportunities there are now. Not in little podunky towns, anyway. I picked up what I could from books and trail and error. As time passed, I read more books, went to gatherings, met more people, and learned more. I still had no formal training, but I knew my besom from my athame. I'm currently apprenticed to someone much younger than I, but hey! He's got WAY more training than I do, and he knows WHY it's a besom, and WHY it behaves the way does, does what it does. Sometimes it's hard to wrap my aged and slightly calcified brain around some of the concepts and methods, and I know I'm something of a guinea pig, but I am delighted when something clicks! Fortunately, he's just gotten another 'granny' apprentice, so I don't feel quite so out of place. (Insert recording of guinea pig squealing interspersed with lightening and thunder here.)
I'm in a polyamorous relationship, and recently I found a locla partner. I live in a dinky town in west nowhere and most of the people here are college students,so it was a real treasure hunt! And oh, MAMA! That boy is a real find!
I have two terrific daughters, one awesome foster daughter, two amazing grandchildren, and three parekeets who had better stop screaming at the crows outside or I'll cover thier cage and start blasting them with Rammstein!
