My dad bought her a ring.
So he planted clues all over the house and wants her to go on a hunt for the clues, and the 10th clue reveals the ring he's bought.

Hahaha I hate waking up early on christmas, I'd rather sleep in, but my dad sorted something out for my mum that he wants me to be awake for, so yeah. I have to wake up early for that. mad
