Hmm? What characters do I have?
Well, from Harry Potter, I have George Weasley, Bill Weasley, Rodolphus Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Aberforth Dumbledore, Bloody Baron of Slytherin, and the Veil that Sirius fell through. From Firefly, I have Captain Mal Reynolds, Kaylee, Jayne and Wash. I also have a Neil Perry from the Dead Poet's Society, Anna Marie and Pintel from Pirates of the Caribbean, Kid Blink from Newsies and Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. Those are all my cosplay mules (and they all have random names). The others ones are just random.
There is a costume design class at my college, but its only basic and it costs so much money for supplies so I couldn't afford to take it. Which I'm rather angry about, but whatever. Life goes on, ne? So you want to go into make-up design or is that just something your interested in maybe thinking about pursuing? I suck with makeup, and... my college doesn't even have a class for it.
Light and Sound ops are easiest for me. The buttons and switches make some sort of sense for me and its fun trying to figure out new boards. I know how to work a six-switch pretty well because the college's theatre is under construction at the moment so we use the six-switch because its nice and portable. The old light board (which I did get the opportunity to use once) was pretty amazing. I enjoyed playing with all the dials and putting the light cues into the computer. It was great fun. Of course the lighting designer for that play was lazy as all get out, so I didn't get my cues until dress rehearsal. Which was made of fail, but it happens, I suppose.
As for why I didn't tell anyone about costume designing... well, it actually never occurred to me to tell someone. No one asked and the theatre program here is geared a lot more towards actors, directors and stage managers, so it was kind of whatever for me. I also had forgotten how much I loved sewing. It had been years since I had done anything but patchwork, so it was kind of... like learning how to ride a bike again. Never truly forgotten, but never truly appreciated until one submerges oneself in cloth, needles and thread.
Hey, my original account isn't this one either. My original was suspended for some reason (I never found out why) and I only regained it about two years ago. But all of my items, posts, etc were already on this account so I just continued with this one.
I have a lot of cosplay mule accounts. I get bored and try to figure out how I can make a Gaian avatar look like a character from a book or a movie and I try to get it as accurate as I possibly can. I have several. Something in the twenties, I believe. It's been a while since I've last counted. I've also got a few random mules that are just fun for me to look at. So I have some pretty epic items spread out on those as well, depending on what was needed. My original doesn't have much epic items though. *shrugs*
has anyone asked about it?
:'D
I'm mainly a techie - running crew, light board op, but I did direct a play (Incorruptible by micheal Hollinger. S'bout grave-robbing monks) and I've stage managed a few times, ASMed a few times, and done sound board op. I've a mind to become a costume designer because guilty pleasure is sewing. My professors were rather miffed that I kept that fact to myself for four years, only unearthing it during my thesis where I helped my costume designer sew the monk robes, etc. I can logically only see myself in theatre for the next ten years or so. Not too long. It's not what I love doing, but its something I can do.
I love travelling. Hence my obsession with the era of roadtrips. I mean, yeah, road trips still happen, but not to the degree that they once did. I mean, you were an outcast if you didn't go on a RT. Nowadays people are all like "Why would you want to go?" I don't know. It's some strange times. I just want to write. I think I'd be happiest doing that. Writing and traveling.
I shall build a Time Machine and I shall go back to those days and just... stay there. Looping again and again until I get bored. I think that would be a wonderful idea, and I would never plan the way to go, but how you get there is the better part. (Book says that in Firefly, btw, so its not me but I love that quote.)
It takes at least 3 times through before you begin to grasp SE Lain. That's how complicated it is. It's an acid trip. Seriously.
So here's a question. I was looking at your profile and I have to ask. How does a vegetarian end up working at a burger joint?
I should be working on my senior thesis - which ya know, I need to graduate college and go out into the world to be, well, poor. I get to graduate college at the biggest depression of jobs that America's had in like... 35 years. I'm going to be poor, and I'm going to live in a cardboard box. But I have a marker, so it will be a very PRETTY cardboard box. However, instead of working on my thesis, or that history paper due tomorrow (actually due last friday, but I managed an extension, go me!) or the Spanish exam that's coming up, I'm on Gaia. Hunting eggs for a pair of fuzzy bunny slippers that I will never wear. Ever. In my Gaian career. Except maybe once, after I get them, I'll design a pink outfit that will be so garish and painful that I will only have it for like... five minutes. Or something.
I've been changing my outfit a lot these past few days. I can't ever find one that I'm happy on. I liked my last one, with the kimono and the violin, but I also like this one, which is all robot-y. I do not understand sometimes. I'd love to think up more outfits, but I'm too lazy.
Yeah, you don't want to go overcomplicated with stuff or else your brain explodes. That's why stuff like Seriel Experiment Lain can only be watched on occasion. Or else your head explodes as your brain implodes and its not a very pretty sight. No, not at all. A friend of mine handed me more anime yesterday. I'm not huge on anime anymore, but if its good enough, I'll watch it. I prefer BBC these days. Because I'm crazy like that.
It's some fun times. *nods*
Jeez, I've missed a lot? Well, good thing that whenever I have the chance I'm going to start at the beginning again. If only because I loved the beginning. I have a scarf that my friend got me at a con - a Dominic Deegan Scarf and its signed by Mookie. I was so happy because I didn't even tell him that I wanted it. Well, I may have mentioned, but it was about six months before the con that I mentioned it and then he randomly appears with the scarf. I was very very gleeful.
So, heroes is complicated? I can deal with that. One of my favorite shows is NCIS and the other is Doctor Who. So I'm kind of used to complicated. In fact, in the anime that I watch, I normally get bored if its not complicated in some measure or another. I guess that's why Ghost Hunt and Black Cat and Getbackers are my favorites as of right now. It happens. Man, I know how to ramble about nothing.
