Hyōrinmaru (Ice Ring) is Jetniss' zanpakutō. It is initially released by the command, sōten ni zase (sit upon the frozen heavens). The sword's appearance does not change radically upon its initial release. Aside from gaining a long chain ending with crescent-shaped hook attached to the tip of the hilt, an immense spirit power overflows from the tip of the blade, creating a larger-than-life Chinese dragon made of ice which makes for a fearsome opponent. Jetniss can control the weather using the Hyourinmaru, especially the wind and ice. The target on which the dragon makes an impact freezes instantly and is trapped in ice. In addition, the chain can instantly freeze whatever Jetniss restrains with it. Hyōrinmaru is the strongest of all the ice elemental swords. Hyōrinmaru's final release (bankai) is called Dai Guren Hyōrinmaru (Great Crimson Ice Ring). It's similar to the initial release, only it is made of pure ice and has figures resembling 3 flowers composed of 12 petals. The dragon latches onto Jetniss, granting him a pair of wings, a tail, and also covering his right hand. Additionally, being touched by ice particles or the blade will result in being covered in ice, similarly to the initial release chain's ability.

The twelve ice petals that appear with Jetniss' final release have a special significance, and gradually melt away as he uses his final release in battle. Supposedly when the twelve flower petals all disappear, Jetniss' entire final release will be gone. It is implied that the reason for this is that Jetniss's final release is incomplete, due to his relatively young age. It should be noted that this theory was put forth by the arrancar Shawlong; the ability of an arrancar to fully understand a shinigami's weapon is questionable at best so this theory is only provisional until the true nature of the petals is confirmed. It should additionally be noted that at the time, Jetniss was operating under a power limit, which could have affected Shawlong's perception of his strength. According to Jetniss, as long as there is water in his immediate surrounding area, his final release form is able to regenerate itself indefinitely. The petals aren't visible at this time, farther casting doubt on Shawlong's theory.

Hyōrinmaru's final release has two known special techniques. First, the Dragon Hail Flower (ryūsenka), used to kill Shawlong Qufang. In this technique, Jetniss stabs the enemy, locking him into an ice cocoon, freezes the opponent to the core, and then shatters his body. Second, the Thousand Years Ice Prison ( sennen hyōrō ), which forms a multitude of ice pillars using the moisture in the atmosphere. These pillars then envelop and attack the enemy.

Bio: Tōshirō Jetniss is very young by the standards of the Xion's Military. He is the captain of the seventh battalion. He was a reincarnation of Jetnissan Furya StrifeHeart. A dragoon who was killed in the first unification war between Skettier, and Niffilint. When he died, all hope for his race died with it. Little did anyone know that he was reincarnated into a human with exceptional abilities. Both Jet, and his reincarnation bear no resemblence. There abilities are also completely different. Where as the original Jet controlled Fire, and at some point he could manipulate the power of darkness, his reincarnation can only manipulate water, and ice. Jetnissans reincarnation is apparently a bit short. Though its because of his age, the Original Jet was about 6ft"3. His reincarnation is about 5ft"6. This new Jet has enhanced speed like his former self, except hes faster, though a bit weaker, he still is strong. The proof being he became a captain at the age of twelve.

Jetniss is generally mature and serious. He is, however, easily annoyed when anyone refers to him by anything other than his title, Captain Jetniss Toushiro. Some of his close friends have used the occasional "Shiro" , a nickname meaning "Whitey" in reference to his hair without repercussion, however. He is overly protective of anyone he may be very close to. Jetniss' has extremely sharp intuition.

Jetniss comes from The Continent, and Country known as Xion. He grew up there in a small shop. There he lived with an old woman and a boy slightly older than his with a broken arm, and possibly other people. Little else is known about his past
As a child, Jetniss was a bit of a brat who liked to eat watermelons and poke fun at the random kids of his village. They would call him "Shiro-chan" and he would counter by calling them "Bed-wetters". He also befriended Len Niorian. They usualy stood up for each other when they were picked on. In turn they befriended Samantha Strider. The three were close friends and Jetniss, despite being younger and much shorter than his friends, always felt that he needed to protect Samantha. With Jetniss' natural talent, he quickly entered the Xion Acult Military, despite his age, which had the adoptive name Dioneres Flight. Samantha continued to call him "Shiro" out of habit and felt she needed to protect him. Because of a promise she had made, she only began to call him "Jetniss" after he had achieved his zanpakutō's shikai. Highly capable and knowledgeable, he became the youngest of the captains within the Military. There is an organization with no known name at the moment who has been hunting him as soon as they realized who he was. This Organization if full of the only people who know who Jetniss' was in his past life, and its their duty to kill him before he releases the dragons they locked away.
