As I take a deep breath
and plunge into reality.
I became very close to
a thought, that once lingered into my mind.
He won’t get to see me grow up,
So no more comparisons of fish.
No more glories tales of fishing trips,
No more smiling face as a little one is born.
Oh, how his face lit the room when
each of us was having a crummy day.
Oh, what I would give to bring him back.
So that he Could see me graduate,
Or more importantly so that he could see
his great grandchildren.
Unfortunately, he died three months and 21 days
before I turned 16. Even though he’s not
here, he still watching over my every move.
Guiding me so that if I do make a mistake,
he picks me up and makes me try again.
