If you know your stuff you'll be able to get nice offers which make it all the more easier to sell.
The reason why people let it go for reasonably cheap is because they want it gone fast because they desire another item. Aslong as you can get more than 2% off the market price it's worth investing. When I first began I was making 2k from most of my items because I couldn't really invest in big items, but eventually as you get more gold you're able to invest alot more into big items and then you'll be making 100k with ease.
It does take practise and understanding of how the mp works though to be sucessful. Otherwise you're at risk of investing in bad items which crash in price.
Sometimes you've got to make risks thugh if you want a big cash out, but it's best to leave that till you're a veteran and when you know a a few 100k's won't cost you that much. My biggest income from an item is 1.6mil cool

Meh, I'm taking a break from it.
It's quite easy though, just go inot the Exchange forum and buy stuff cheap and then sell them for higher in the market.

It's not so hard to do. I actually donated my 1st mil when I left and then when I returned I had to restart again.
