Ugh. I'm awfully sorry, I've been busier than I thought I'd be after going home. I now have no idea what's going on at all and Reuters appear to have stopped their liveblogging service.

As for a 'proper gun' on Gaia, anything that isn't a free film promotional one or an 'alien raygun'. I'm always put off by better weapons' costs.

I'm off to try and inform myself now. Expect more contributions to the thread soon.

I really do hope that this issue is resolved soon...from what I can hear, things aren't getting too bad, but are still at relatively high risk. My sister is saying that information she read in news articles goes against what you say, though, and she is certain that the news articles are right and you are wrong...I'm not sure what to think of that...

Either way, I believe that the issue will eventually be resolved. Good luck!

Thank you for the constant updates with information on the nuclear problems in Japan at the moment. I get worried about these things a lot, so it's good to know. I hope the people there are safe soon.

Hey...I was wondering, how accurate is Wikipedia on Nuclear reactors? I was wondering if it was a good source or not.

I'm glad there are people actually being sensible about this and trying to combat misinformation. All over the Internet there are scared crowds reacting to claims like 'A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT HAS EXPLODED' made by people who've maybe only read a sensationalist headline or two.
(For what it's worth, I've been reporting on everything I find in the Gaia International forum and even reading Google Translated TEPCO press releases to find out what's going on.)

Also, re. your wanting to visit Pripyat: totally agree. I'm certainly planning to raise the money to get there at some point.

I've always liked him, really--I learned a couple of piano pieces by him a few years ago.
Yesterday I listened to "A Night on Bald Mountain" and I'm absolutely enthralled. I love it.
