About
Ok, a little bit about me...I am a college student, getting ready to graduate in Architecture. That means I don't have much of a life. Architecture consumes my time and I'm stuck spending countless hours, late into the night, sitting in my studio. Most of it is computer related work these days, but I also spend a lot of time building models. I hate it. The models, that is, not the computer work.
My design courses introduced me to my new hobby, 3d modeling and animation. I still suck at it, since I don't get a lot of time to really dig deep into it, but I still enjoy it nonetheless. I've long had a love and appreciation for all things animated, but once you get a feel for how CG animation is done, it gives you a whole new appreciation for movies like Kungfu Panda or even Avatar. That movie was practically one great big photo-quality animation with a few people thrown in.
With my love of animation, I tend to watch a lot of anime. I spend most of my time on this site in the A/M/C. I have to say, though, it quickly became clear to me that I'm not nearly the fan as a lot of the people there are. I've been forced to learn a fair amount of new terminology since I started frequenting that forum.
In addition to animation, I simply enjoy learning. I enjoy learning about people, places and events. I'm a bit of a history geek and enjoy studying other cultures. No, I'm not a weeaboo. Japan is not my favorite place. Personally, I prefer medieval Europe. I love the architecture (especially the castles), the armor, the weapons, chivalry, and I have a bit of a fascination with siege warfare.
While I do read the occasional manga, I really enjoy a good novel. Preferable sci-fi or fantasy. My favorite author right now is Terry Pratchett. The Discworld books are hilarious, while still being rich with character and imagination. I'm also a fan of Raymond E. Fiest, especially his Riftwar Saga. They were the books that really got me reading.
Anyways, that's probably more than you really wanted to know about me. I might add more to this later, though, if I feel like it.
