Joseph Frost was the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team Vehicle specialist or Omni Man. Before Rebecca Chambers's enlistment to S.T.A.R.S., he was on the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team. Many members of Bravo Team were jealous of his promotion, but he was moved up by Wesker himself. Unlike the rest of Alpha team, he was humorous and optimistic. He kept a Three Stooges calendar in his locker at the Raccoon Police Department. He was also described as being "young, enthusiastic and very curious" but this would later come back to haunt him. He was a member of the Navy SEALs before joining S.T.A.R.S. In the Resident Evil book the Umbrella Conspiracy, Joseph had a passion for teasing the other STARS members, such as giving Brad Vickers the nickname 'Chicken Heart'.

His curiosity got the best of him when Alpha team landed at the Bravo team crash site. Joseph searched the surrounding area for any clues as to the whereabouts of any Bravo members, and discovered a pistol held by a severed human hand lying in the grass. Joseph's screams were cut off when a Cerberus jumped at his neck and the rest of the pack devoured him alive while Jill Valentine froze in the sight of the bloodbath. Joseph was dead before the real nightmare began.
Remake
Joseph was among the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team when they discovered the wreckage of Bravo team's helicopter, discovering the corpse of Kevin Dooley. Whilst searching through the woods, he hears a growling noise. He aims his shotgun at the area where the growling noise came from, but nothing was there. Whilst he wasn't looking, an MA-39 Cerberus drags him to the ground and the rest of the MA-39 Cerberus pack arrive to devour him. During the massacre, half of the Cerberus pack take notice of Jill Valentine, several breaking off to pursue the remaining Alpha team into the Spencer estate.
