Vowing to Death (one of my poems)
Creatures moaning, falling, crying
Leave us here to sleep undying.
A dark light glowing, in the deep abyss,
What happened here, what did we miss?
They're saying goodbye and crawling near,
We back away quickly, our eyes full of fear.
Their eyes glow with hunger, a fire of black
We scream with fear, "You beasts, get back!"
They snarl with laughter, at our wailing despair,
Eyes full of hatred and rage, no room to care.
Our screams are mimicked by these awful monsters
Then comes a noise, in darkness it stirs.
Up comes a man, from the darkness he came;
He shoos away the beasts, faces full of shame.
He approaches us slow, scanning for threats
"They are now harmful; not enough to kill," he corrects.
We relax with ease, in the nest of his warmth
He hesitates then, saying, "Where lies death?"
There comes not answer, we're stiff as stone
One points to me, whispering, "She lies alone."
He runs to me and holds my hands,
"Now, I've found you, I've crossed many lands.
Please make it swift and end it now,
Make me die here, I'll make any vow."
