About

Goddess of The Century

User Image

My name is Diana. I am currently fifteen years of age, and a sophomore in El Paso, TX.
I love epic tales of heroism, and, of course, mythology.
I'd really like to study anthropology, particularly archeology, at Michigan State.
Go Spartans!

My zodiac sign is Aries.

I love...

History. Theology. Mythology. Euripides. Ovid. Homer. The Spartans. The movie 300. The movie Troy. The Odyssey. The Illiad. Poetry. Archery <3. English Class. Fashion. Gladiator Sandals. Playwrights. Red wine. The sound of the lyre. Museums. Exploring. Adventure. Discovery. History class. Prophecies. Books. Laurels. Creativity. Dreaming big. My Zodiac. Percy Jackson and The Olympians.

I am...

A goddess inside. An Idealist. A leader. Lazy. Adventurous. Somewhat introverted. Addicted to the internet. A poet. A playwright. A writer in general. The next best thing since sliced bread. An Aries. A natural born leader. The type of girl who doesn't need a man to complete her.

Things I'm going to do before I die...

Relive the path of Odysseus from The Odyssey. Shoot a giant wild boar with an arrow. Run from Marathon to Athens and shout, "Nike!". Discover a lost ancient civilization. Travel Europe. Sail over the Aegean. See the sun set over the Aegean.

I think if i had to take any Olympian tale at all, i'd probably gun for the tale of King Arthur's fabled ancestor, Aeneas of Troy, actually.

You can say that again.
That's why Athena's origin story is the most famous, no matter which version you'd gun for.

Or if Zeus hadn't heard of the messed-up prophecy in which he had to swallow Metis or else repeat the whole stinkin' mess all over again.
Perhaps Metis is alive, but what is known for sure, is that at least the Lady Athena existed from afterwards, right?

Its rather fitting that Lady Athena is Zeus' favorite legitimate child[or any sort of child, for that matter!] since Zeus loved Metis.

So according to Hamilton, was Athena the eldest child of Zeus, or the youngest?

Ah, yes. Very true. I think I read something like that. <.< Brothers from Troy founded the great city of Rome. If the tale is indeed true, I like to think of it as Troy getting it's revenge in 146BC. ;p

I've never read Virgil's Aeneid. <.< Perhaps I should. I've only been studying Homer. ;p

It looks like the Aeneid is somewhat correct about Rome's founding by some of Aeneas' descendants, actually.
It would help out a lot if you do that, although i wonder if you studied some parts of Hesoid and much of Heroditus?

Was 146 B.C the time when the Romans besieged Greece to go after the descendants of the invasion force that destroyed Troy?

Even the likes of Virgil[the man who wrote The Aeneid, which was not only rooted in more truth than most people might give it credit for(even though i think its fitting that the tale was known as The world's first fanfiction, though, even though it turns out to be more than just that!) but was also apparently a prequel to the tales about King Arthur's family!] could only guess that Troy might have existed off of a series of hunches.

To be fair, Homer had those hunches first, along with Hesoid, but even then they never saw coming the idea that the Trojans could have helped to have found Western Europe.
