The myth

A fairy (also faery, faerie, fay, fae, wee folk, good folk, people of peace, fair folk) is a type of mythical being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural.

Fairies resemble various beings of other mythologies, though even folklore that uses the term fairy offers many definitions. Sometimes the term describes any magical creature, including goblins or gnomes: at other times, the term only describes a specific type of more ethereal creature.

*Then there's another fairy buzzing around in his face and tugging at his shirt. Gets irritated and a little fed up with it, not enjoying being toyed around with even though this one's just trying to help. In his irritation lashes out and tries to thwack that fairy away from him, if he's successful may realize that he hit it a little too hard...* Oh, shoot. I-I'm sorry!

*Looks a little confused when there's suddenly a bunch of tiny "awwws" buzzing in his ear, and before he can move out of the way one of them sneezes in his face. Winches and wipes off the snot and.............ugh. Glitter. Shakes his hand in an attempt to get rid of glitter!mucus but he's not having much luck.*

*Hasn't read too much lore on faeries besides what's in fairy-tales (ha). Sort of had them pegged in the same place as unicorns but maybe he was wrong. Of course these things look like more like mosquitoes that can giggle, from what he can tell. But he does remember some old tales describing faeries as both curious and mischievous.*
