When I think about it all now, there are so many things I am desperate to say. I want to say I'm sorry; I want to say that I love you; I want to say that I hope your life has brought you to new and happier places, that you're still as strong and even more motivated than ever to find the things in life that will make you content. The nightmares I have of the hurt in your eyes are less painful than the dreams I have of your laughter, your hand on mine, your warmth. I can't go to a mall without the sounds reminding me of you. Cold mornings bring your face to mind. It's so hard not knowing if you're okay; I'll never ask you to forgive me because I set out to hurt you as much as I could, to make you run away before I fell to pieces, and I don't think I'll ever deserve to be forgiven for such cold-hearted cruelty. I pray for you all the time, that it made you stronger, that you found a better path in life to follow. And I just... hope. All the time.
