The Person Currently Known As Vayda
Hello earthlings. My name is Vayda Hatfield, and I hate sports. Unless it's Tomato Raid, that is. I'm guessing since this is an 'About Me' section, that I should put some stuff about myself in here. Let's see... I love music. I sing, play piano, guitar, viola, and accordion. If I could afford any more instruments then I would play them too. smile I've been singing since I could talk, and took seven years of choir before I dropped out because I felt that I had reached my capacity in that area. Piano was second, I picked up bits and pieces at friend's houses (for I didn't actually own one myself). Then, finally, I got an electric keyboard (!!!) and I've been messing with it ever since. Then there was guitar. I was given my first one when I was ten, but I only liked it for about two months, which actually was a farther range then my ten-year-old brain usually held. After that, it magically became broken, and I didn't get another one until my freshman year of high school, when I was in this one band. It was an electric, and I started to play. then, I longed to get an acoustic, and one christmas my santa-granparents-claus bought me one. I loved it, until a friend of mine dropped it and the tuning peg for the g-string BROKE OFF. Then, another friend of mine was selling hers for FIVE DOLLARS so I bought it, and that's the one I use now. smile My viola is a little broken... but my accordion is fine. I love it to death! Squeezebox!Music aside, I'm also an artist. My medias are usually pencil or ink pens, but I also like to venture into the world of acrylic paints, clay, and (dun dun dun) wood. Sculptures are fun to make, and I made a mask once or twice. I enjoy writing absurd comics (or zines). My ink drawings aren't usually that intricate, but I'm working on something that uses so much detail that I'm scaring myself!
THEN, I love to write. I'm the kind of person that, instead of looking at something and wondering how it works, I look at something and wonder who it falls in love with. Take the wire-towers, for instance. They look like giants, no? Okay, so my take on it was that the first settlers here in America met these giants and didn't like them, so they used 'Native-American-magic' to freeze them. After years and years (for they were magical creatures), they began to disintegrate. Their skin and junk became the dirt and sand and rocks, and what was left was their bone structures. After the industrial revolution, we coated the skeletons with steel as to not intimidate society, and made them hold our wires for us so we could transport light into the homes of the people of our nation. That's my take on it, at least. Writing goes a long way for me. I'm planning on being an English major in college!
Other than that, I'm a bit of an enigma. I'm a goth, but without the attitude... I'm always bright and cheery (unless something silly and stupid happens to make me sad)! I enjoy having an optimistic (yet sometimes paranoid) outlook on life. I have friends of all different kinds, and I'm accepting of a lot of things. I don't care what your political party/opinion is, as long as you don't shove it down my throat and we can have a friendly banter about it. It's the same with religion. I don't like druggies (that includes stoners), alcoholics (alcohol is okay in moderation), or cancer-stick smokers. Everyone has their issues, and I won't 'shun' you for that! smile
All that, and I'm only seventeen years old!!! biggrin
