This is the description of my avatar, the story behind her and all. I may be planning to submit it into the avatar arena, and this description is too long for it to fit, so I'm posting it here for now to make some variations on it. Tell me what you think, if you want. n.n
All credit goes to this piece of literature: "Petals on the River" by Kathleene Woodiwiss, copyright 1997, fiction. This is a variation of the main character.
In past times, being of Irish blood or descent was frowned upon by the English people. The so-called bog trotters were no higher than dirt in the eyes of society, and therefore lived in less-than-agreeable conditions as a result. This lady's father, however, changed his situation considerably when he married an Englishwoman of particular status, as he was an Irishman. This match was met with great tribulation by cruel peoples (especially the wife-to-be's family), but the dowry was still greatly generous, for the woman's last-surviving parent loved her so. The two families had hoped to keep their betrothal a secret, but they were deadly mistakened when the woman was with child, and when this child grew, she came to possess great tresses of crimson and fire, which boldly cried out IRISH to probing eyes. Half-blood does as well when her light-blue eyes are caught with surprise. As she accepted that her own secret was betrayed by what God gave her, and being fiercely proud of her "bogtrottish" blood, the woman loves to adorn herself with this red dress, as this is her own suppressed way of slapping critics in the face, as well as letting her locks grow to shocking lengths. To explain the wings protruding from her head, this is the way she only sees herself in dreams, for the desire to access flight and full freedom from the mind's of the ignorant is prominent in her fiery heart.
