I am an avid roleplayer and writer. I spend much of my time reading, or thinking of character ideas for some piece or another. I've been published in several local magazines, including a student-run magazine at my university, and the student newspaper. Speaking of which, I'm a Freshman at the University of Michigan, with a dual major in English and psychology. I'm hoping to get into the teacher certificate program when I've taken enough classes to be eligible.

I'm probably not the most active 20 year old. I focus a lot on academic life, and my various writing projects. I don't go to parties often....I'm pretty sure I partied more when I was in High School, but I do like getting together with my friends and watching movies, or playing cards now and again.

If I find myself needing a little break from writing my heavier pieces, I tend to frequent roleplaying boards. There are a few things that many roleplayers do that I will never do. The biggest one is: make a character profile. I hate making them because I like my character to evolve as I write, and character profiles get me in the habit of limiting my character to whatever his/her profile says...where as simply writing about him/her tells me so much more about the character. Besides, I've never read or written anything where all the characters had profiles in the beginning of the piece...and roleplaying is generally narrative, why would it be a custom there?
