i'm trying to get myself some more responsibilities at work, 'cause at least then i'd have an unbeatable reason to get a decent raise ^^

hehe our hobbies are opposite xD i haven't bought or been able to really play a video game in forever. i'm playing an fps now and again that came out recently but i think "video games" as a hobby for me has unfortunately ended or is close to it ^^ i guess i'm happy enough with my code and little programming side projects and study to keep me busy. though i would like to go to university over here sometime, too. not sure how to work that nicely into a work-life balance but we'll see :)

i'm pretty okay surprised yep i'm still in germany! i'm starting to make a name for myself in the programmer world over here. i lead a meetup group in the city for a programming language and i'm getting more into conference and presentation type stuff. trying to earn myself a bit of fame and recognition, which is kind of a fun process ^^

i can totally understand about the ebb and flow of interest. can't say the interest has really sparked back for me for a long time, so probably i won't be doing anything with modding for the foreseeable future. what attracted and attracts me to gaia is and was the great friendships and always having somebody to chat with. pretty sure i'd get that again were i to start modding again, but without the social life already there on the site there's little motivation to push for more ^^ but that's okay. gaia and my friends from here will always hold a special place in my heart heart

how about you, everything going okay in your neck of the woods? what have you been up to for the past long while?

Yes, I am still in academia, which is why my response was delayed. redface I got my grades in by 6am Wednesday, then finished up and submitted the final pieces of my job application packet today. I am applying to become a faculty member after over 7 years as an adjunct.

How about you? Still in academia? Getting adjusted to new!Gaia? Wanna poke Zelo about getting back on the team? whee It's nice to see you again.
