I am an INTP. An analytical, pragmatic approach to all that I do in life means that people may falsely believe that I am an emotionally detached person. In reality, I simply see no point of them affecting the way I act, so I don't.
I had several fish named after my coaching staff and friends until a tragic power surge resulted in a fish fry. I'm really happy to be on the debate team I'm on; it's among the best in the country, and I like the fact that so many of my peers are ridiculously better than me. I compete in Parliamentary debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, and extemporaneous speaking. If you like these events ON THE COLLEGE LEVEL, we'll get along pretty well.
After I graduate from college, I'm going to go to seminary, with the eventual goal of becoming a pastor with the Presbyterian Church USA. Their education is unrivaled, and I'm quite excited about it.
Being in college was tough my first year. Being on debate seemed tougher. However, over the summer, I had a lot of chances to work hard and clear my mind. Coming into the second year of college, I am ready to take on the world, and believe that I will do quite well in my pursuits.
I'm a game-aholic and I'll admit it right now. Most notably I'm a fan of Starcraft: Brood War (Which I'd contend remains the single greatest electronic game of all time) and Magic: the Gathering. In Starcraft, I play Terran, and in Magic, I play green/blue pinball, white/blue control, mono-black rogues, white/green saprolings, and white/red beatdown If that tells you something about my personality, please let me know.
Having been able to study Economics in depth has shown that people perceived to be heartless in economic matters in fact are following a different paradigm. I very strongly believe that a free and unregulated market will help more people in the long run than a regulated one. I also believe that consumers should take responsibility for their purchases, a reason why I do not support businesses that make profit from deals with the Sudanese government. I do not ask our government to enforce this, only that you do.
I hate gaia avatars. So sue me.
I could tolerate living anywhere in the entire country except Western Wyoming/Southern Idaho and Montana. Sorry if you live there, it doesn't make you less of a person. It's just not for me.
I believe in God the maker of the universe and in Jesus Christ my savior. I also believe that if God wanted us to have proof of his existence, he'd have given it. So stop trying to prove that he's real; it can't be done. They call it faith for a reason. I have it, and I know that it's 100 percent irrational. That's why I'll never ever shove my religion down your throat. But if you have any questions about my beliefs, feel free to ask; I don't have all the answers, I don't pretend to. But I'll still let you know what I think.
I'm a libertarian in politics, and a Double Leader in debate.
I just might accidentally turn into an art critic if I'm not careful.
I side more with Rousseau than locke or hobbes. I agree with Mills more than Bentham (ironically enough), but I think that they agreed on several points that were Bentham's idea.
Thomas Kuhn is baller.
And, if you had the patience to read all this, so are you!
