that sounds so cool! most of the anime i enjoy best are movies -- Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Spirited Away, etc. My favorite series are "serial experiments: LAIN" and "Kino's Journey." the first is a look at identity through the eyes of a young girl who may be going mad or who may be a new kind of interface with the virtual world of the net. the latter is a series of journeys into bizzare countries, and has an underlying theme of personal exploration as well. both are kind of surreal and philosophical, and in my own personal opinion have an eastern spiritual dimension as well. i'm trying next to find copies of "Gilgamesh" which claims to be a kind of battle-scene but the viewer is constantly left wondering who the good guys are and who the bad guys are -- or if there is any such thing. sort of like Princess Mononoke, i guess. ususally robots and battle anime have no appeal for me at all, though.
cool background image on your profile. i haven't watched Buffy ... well, i think i watched the movie a million years ago, or part of it. but i like anime a lot, especially thoughtful stuff. not many series appeal to me, but the movies do like SPIRITED AWAY or something.
