Oh hey, thanks for the drink.
Nice glasses.
The name’s Kwanpo. I’m also called Junbao or Ari, depending on where I am or where I’m going. I use Ari as my guise, to make things a little easier for people who ask my name excessively. You know, like when they ask you for your name and then they ask you a few more times to ‘clarify’. “Is that really your name?” they would say. And I would say yes. But the point is, I exist much more as Ari, because now that’s a really important part of me.
About me? Oh, I’m not sure...I should uh...another drink? Oh, sure.
I am seventeen years old, and an aspiring architect already: absolutely adores art and alarmingly abortive alliteration. Again and again, alliteration articulates an alacritous appetite aimed at absurd amusement. Okay, seriously, though, I like architecture, too. I'm currently enrolling at Carnegie Mellon for Architecture. It's hard, but I'm more concerned about the people I meet and the friends I make, and especially, especially, the friends I leave behind.
You know what? I’m a little tired now. I think I’ll go...another one? Well, I guess I can stay a little longer.
I'm an Asian, born there, living here. I was seven when I immigrated to the United States. At that time, I always thought that America was going to be such a rural contrast to the urban Hong Kong, and my grandma’s house was in the middle of a farm with a country backdrop behind it, and we would go out everyday and run around in the tall grass and play with whatever animals there were. What a misconception.
Anyway, I got here and found out that there were cities over here too and it wasn’t quite as sunny as I thought it would be. So I did what all other immigrants did and became American. But on the outset, I'm still stereotyped.
My it’s getting late. I think I’ll have a break. I...oh, another? Well, just this once.
I am a Roleplayer. I just like to tell stories. My writing ranges from literate to adv-literate; my style (style?) is unique with a above-average level of vocabulary; I contribute to plots in, let's just say, really surprising ways. I have a tendency to shove as many cliff-hangers as I can anywhere. I'm also a huge fan of dramatic irony, so I suppose if you're not, you won't understand my humor at all. I am inspired by Neil Gaiman, british writer of extremely notable worth, who has written books like Coraline, Anansi Boys, and Neverwhere, as well as graphic novels like the Sandman. Gaiman's writing involves dead-pans, breaks in chronology and paced sentences that serves to provide an equal blend of action and thought instead of separating them into their own paragraphs.
My biggest problem so far, is the fact that I write straight-from-thought and am too lazy to fix or increase my vocabulary. Every time I pause in thought (as with riveting storytellers ;D), I insert a comma, which has the unfortunate side-effect of ruining grammar. I'm working on this problem.
I'm involved in a few roleplays, stuff I can get my hands on in between schoolwork and hobbies. My favorite/best one is not on Gaia. Don't go looking for it.
Oh god, I’ve got to get going. Uh I’ll see you then...what? Another? Ah, on second thought it’s not like anyone’s going to miss me just yet.
I draw a lot. It’s a hobby that I’m very proud of. I draw quite a lot, but not too well. I am also a happy cartographer, meaning I love drawing maps with a very clear understanding of meteorology and geography. I also create small, three-dimensional sculptures out of paper or other things like that. That's papercraft, another of my favorite hobbies. I am currently testing my abilities on drawing humans, a skill I’m trying to improve on.
In fact, you can also ask me to draw your portrait for free while I expand my skills. Just send me a message and any other descriptions you want to add. I mean, it doesn’t really hurt to see what I make of you, eh?
Okay now. That’s all for today. Please don’t give me...well, I do suppose this is interesting and all. Another drink will do.
Coldplay is my current favorite band. It seems my favorite album of all time is their Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends because I’ve had no problems with any any of the songs, and most importantly, I can sing almost all of them. It’s a little harder for all the other songs of their first three albums, because, damn, Chris Martin can sing pretty high.
I also play the piano, which has recently become my most favorite hobby of all time. It’s so good I don’t have a way to describe it.
One more? Okay. I think this is becoming a pattern.
Delia. I love her very much. That one was short, yeah? Yeah, that's because I REALLY have to go. Oh alright fine, I'll be fair. Another one then...
With thanks to Neil Gaiman for inspiring me with his biographic-story structure.
