About
Welcome to my profile. You can call me Aelfdane, which means Danish Elf. As I am not, to my knowledge, the slightest bit Danish, this might seem an odd choice. Well, I suppose it is. I chose the name for no other reason than because I liked it, to be honest. Elves are my thing.I am eighteen, and I'll be a sophomore in college this fall. I'm majoring in Political Science and Religion, which might seem like an odd combination, but I find that they mesh together in interesting ways.
Reading is important to me. I have a personal reading list-- right now, I'm trying to get through the classics. My favorite author is E. M. Forster. If you've ever read "A Passage to India" or "A Room With a View", those are my favorites of what he's written. I highly recommend them! The next favorite author would have to be C. S. Lewis, you know, the guy who wrote "The Chronicles of Narnia". He was a prolific writer. My favorite of his is "The Great Divorce". It's brilliantly written. Third favorite, at the moment, would be Gandhi's autobiography. Whatever your impression might be-- it is an enormously entertaining and thought-provoking book. I would go so far as to call it a definite must-read.
My dream is to travel all over the world, experiencing religious culture firsthand. I want to go to the Buddhist and Hindu Temples. I want to experience Shinto and Taoism. Really, I want to experience it all.
As for Gaian interests, I am an avid art fan, which is partially what drew me here. Also, I love to roleplay. While I'm new to gaia, I plan to stick around for the long haul, so don't be afraid to join a roleplay with me. I won't drop out. I am a literate role-player, however, and I prefer to stick to literate role-plays. I'm here to make long-term friends (and to satisfy you, Shimmer), so don't hesitate to pm and add me if you want to chat or role-play, or just talk about nothing.
Please forgive my noobish-ness for the time being. I promise I'll grow out of it!
Also, if you actually read all this, kudos and thank you. I want you to get to know me just as much as I want to get to know you. ^_^

night~!
How 'bout you?
What's worse than that, is that there are some construction sounds nearby in my neighborhood. D: Not to mention some firecrackers still going on this morning.
