ooo I know what you're talking about now. You also get gold by commenting people on their profiles -- there's a Gaia introductory thing somewhere =x

lol Good. It does take some time to get the hang of it at first but once you do it's easy!

You'll get the gold through daily chance (sometimes) surfing around the site, voting in the arenas, walking through the towns shaking trees and such and selling stuff through market place but don't worry about the last one until you get much gold x.x; To type in stuff click on about me, let it drop down and do to 'Account' at the bottom. On the right you'll see a blue list of things you can type into for interest tags and 'about me' and such.
