Sterling
Name: Sterling Carteret
Race: Human
Age: 25
Height: 6'1''
Origin: Llomerryn (Rivain)
Residence: Circle Tower (Ferelden)
Class: Templar / Swashbuckler
Likes: Booze, Women, Dogs, Cards
Dislikes: The Cold, Authority
Key Traits: Silver Tongue, Cheater

Personality:
Sterling is a smooth talking opportunist. He loves revelry and is very rarely serious. He is the kind of person who can make someone feel comfortable and important while stealing their coin and their wife or cheating them at cards. He may be a lying hooligan but he would never betray the people close to him; he has a very strong sense of loyalty.
The Templar may have joined the church and taken vows but he neither believes nor obeys. When he is away from the tower he seduces women, drinks until he can't stand, and gambles away the precious lyrium the Templar are given.

Appearance:
These are Sterling's tattoos.
Sterling is tall and muscular but it's more of a swimmer's body from his days as a pirate. He has dark Rivaini skin covered in multiple tattoos and piercings. His hair is an almost black brown and about 2 – 3 inches long. It's normally unkempt and looks awfully like bedhead. His eyes are two different shades of grey. The left eye is a bit darker than the light grey of his right eye.
When in the circle tower or visiting a chantry his is forced to wear the traditional Templar mail but he prefers light armor or even basic clothing. After all, if he were to fall in the ocean wearing heavy armor he would sink. Still, when not wearing his standard issue armor he wears some symbol of the Chantry or the Templar in order to signify who he is.

History:
Sterling was born to a couple of pirates belonging to the Felicisima Armada , or the Raiders of the Waking Sea as they're more commonly called, operating out of Llomerryn. They were the leaders of one of the branches and in a show of good faith they sent him with another leader on a raid to Ferelden when he was 20. The leader betrayed him, abandoning him in the cold, barbaric nation and telling his parents he had been killed. With no coin Sterling found it very hard to get help, more so because the Ferelden freemen were suspicious of his nationality and markings. He joined the Templar a little less than a year later claiming he had made a pilgrimage to Ferelden to escape the godlessness and immorality of Rivain and that he wanted to be affirmed. It also helped that the lodging and food was free, the mages were rumored to be easy, and the Templar talents were useful.
