Player Character
50 Words
I was bored at work so this is what came of it. I'm not a writer so it may be repetitive and shitty but whatever.

Some of these are about other characters or have references to Dragon Age but they are all from Ayr's point of view.

01. Focus
His breath was caught in his throat and his brows were knit with concentration; he had to focus on this spell or he would never master it.

02. Civilization
Sitting on top of the weather worn wall staring down at the market Ayr knew he would never get used to civilization.

03. Sink
Sinking was the last thing Ayr had expected when Isabella invited him to her ship for a quick ride around the bay.

04. Count
Ayr could count on one hand the times he really felt comfortable around someone and Irving asking him about the apprentices' insults, touching his arm gently, was not one of those times.

05. Need
It wasn't something Ayr ever thought he'd need but standing there in front of his mother, her eyes burning into him, he wanted a warm body next to him.

06. Blush
Ayr couldn't control that heat that colored his cheeks every time some forward mage made an advance on him; nor could he control the running away that followed.

07. Word
Every well placed word sucked Ayr into an interesting world, painting a picture of a life he'd never have, and he never wanted to reach the back cover.

08. Fish
Every glinting scale, every graceful circle, conjured a feeling of jealousy; Ayr just wanted to be able to swim.

09. Don't
When they met again Raurc's hand reached to touch his face and all he could manage was a quiet, teary don't.

10. Ego
Sometimes Ayr thought it perfectly acceptable to have a bit of pride in himself, especially after saving that frog from the mouth of a vicious war hound.

11. Flow
When Ayr fought he could feel the magic in him, flowing like his blood and breath.

12. Dream
He woke up covered in cold sweat, his breath labored; he hated having dreams of the abomination he could become.

13. Action
Ayr wasn't one to jump into action unless commanded to but if anyone he cared for were in danger he would jump into anything.

14. Enough
Ayr had known Marina a long time, long enough to know how evil she was, and when she was accused of being a blood mage he decided enough was enough.

15. Green
The frog who had managed to sneak it's way into the tower was so green and so fat Ayr couldn't help but keep it; at least until the Templar found it.

16. Metaphor
It had to be a metaphor when Owain told him “this potion is the blood and sweat of the Avvars” but Ayr wasn't sure the tranquil knew what a metaphor was.

17. Teach
Ayr had tried to teach Annis how to hit without seriously hurting the other person; she punched him in the sternum to prove she didn't care.

18. Demand
As a rule Ayr didn't demand anything from the Templar but he made an exception for the Qunari tome a merchant had offered Irving.

19. Inspire
It was Maric, dragons, and Orlesian princesses that inspired the books he read but Ayr had learned it was necessity that inspired real heroes.

20. Unrequited
Ayr had always thought unrequited love was the most tragic and as he watched Aver speak softly to Indiellan his heart ached for the man.

21. Weep
Ayr never had a reason to cry, not really, but when found out about the destruction of his orphanage he couldn't help but weep.

22. Far
Raurc had a far away look in his eyes as he stared past the mountains but when he caught Ayr's eyes he came right back.

23. May
The Templar might have been irritated by Ayr's “May I do this?” and “May I do that?” but they were much more irritated by his complete rearranging of the library and the study hall.

24. Terror
Ayr had never felt Terror like he did during his Harrowing when the demon loomed over him looking to take over his body.

25. Wrench
After the blood mages tried to take over the tower Cullen wouldn't speak to Ayr and it made the elf's heart wrench; who would pry into his life if not the young Templar?

26. Hope
Even if he didn't know it at the time, the first time Ayr set foot into the tower was the first time Ayr felt hope for the future.

27. Scent
Ayr could smell the lake surrounding him being carried on a breeze through the small window; it was his favorite smell.

28. Neglect
Ayr always paid special attention to the neglected artifacts and old books, he would never let them be forgotten.

29. Artist
To Ayr it was a lot like being an artist, each swift blade stroke like a brush against canvas, each arrow a small detail, and every well placed spell a perfectly matched color, and that is why he loved battle.

30. Sorrow
The thing Ayr remembered best about his mother was her eyes, always glancing at him with such disgust, a disgust barely disguising the complicated sorrow.

31. Path
Ayr kicked at the ground a little wishing he would have stayed on the path; he had never considered the possibility of getting lost.

32. Wood
He ran his fingers over the well polished wood leaving behind five trails in the dust; if he had a bookshelf this nice he'd never let it get dusty.

33. Acceptance
Mages had many restrictions on their lives, many fought against them, many lost family members to them, many died trying ignore them; Ayr accepted them.

34. Yet
Ayr had no exciting adventures, he slayed no dragon, saved no beautiful maiden from a pirate king, and rid no world of the darkspawn corruption... yet.

35. Shiver
A lot on things caused Ayr to shiver; the cold, a draft, a gentle brush of a stray spider, and most of all the light fingertips that danced across his back.

36. Hero
She had asked him to help her escape, to spare her, to save her, but he was no hero.

37. Body
Mr. Wiggums was a great mouser and every time the tabby left the body of his fallen prey at the foot of Ayr's bed Ayr wondered what he did to deserve it.

38. Man
Ayr was a man, not that it was everyone's first guess, and when people called him a girl he would stutter a bit and attempt to correct them.

39. Pretend
When Ayr had the study to himself, or when he was in the top of the tower alone, he would pretend to be a character from one of his favorite books and sword fight with the numerous statues of women holding bowls.

40. Curious
Ayr knew that he shouldn't touch the Tevinter artifact, knew he shouldn't imbue it with magic, and he knew he was too curious to take his own advice.

41. Different
He had always been different from the other kids in the Alienage; after all, they couldn't freeze the puddles and slide across them.

42. Smooth
Sterling was always so smooth with women and Ayr wondered if he made his vows because Andraste was attractive.

43. Right
He didn't kill the mage because he was uncaring, he did it because it was right, and the demon didn't appreciate it.

44. Gear
Adventure gear was something that wasn't in books about adventure so when Ayr set out for Denerim he didn't know to pack more than socks he had no intention of wearing.

45. Desire
He knew Yaro was possessed when she started to whisper into his ear about everything he desired.

46. Ritual
As Ayr stood in front of the font, the blue glow of lyrium illuminating the room, he realized how much this ritual scared him and he hoped harrowing was an exaggeration.

47. Color
When the sun rose and the pink light filtered through the colorful stained glass windows was when Ayr truly believed in the Maker.

48. Visit
Valendrian had sent him a letter asking him to visit the Alienage because his mother was dying; Ayr had refused to go and he never regretted it.

49. Belong
Ayr had always felt like he belonged in the Tower; he wished the other mages felt like they belonged too.

50. Bully
Ayr didn't stand for bullies and after he nearly electrocuted an apprentice for picking on another everyone was very aware of it.
