Shikitoru is the son of the true ancestor Yokushin and the angel Mania. Being the prodigy of dark energy blood and light energy blood he is in a constant state of torment. Being part angel he no longer has the vampires dependency of blood, but still has the gene curse of blood lust. He thirsts constantly for the red liquid that beats in the hearts of humans. It is his constant struggle to be like his father and turn away from the path of killing humans for blood. His life has been one of tragedy since his birth. His mother was killed when he was at a very young age by possessed super humans known as hunters. He was raised by his godmother and slowly grew into his powers as a healer. Shiki, as he liked to call himself, was at constant odds against a super virus that was intelligent and took over the minds and body of all it possessed. One day his father who had been missing from his life since birth appeared out of the blue. He was in the company of his uncle and both vampires had been severely wounded. Shiki suspected that they had been infected by the intelligent virus, and was proven right not long after when Raiku his uncle went insane. Yokushin and Raiku fought, and Shiki's uncle killed his father. Flying into a rage Shikitoru took his uncle by surprise and killed him. His father's last act of fatherly love was to bestow his thousand year old gift of spirit bond to Shikitoru. All of the animals that had connected to Yokushin's soul after over four thousand years of living were now intimately tied to Shiki's soul. He then died in the young boys arms. This left him heartbroken but with help from friends and a new love he recovered. After a long and harrowing period of time Shiki managed to eradicate the last of the sentient super virus, but not before the girl he had fallen in love with had been killed in a twisted ultimatum laid out before him by the evil virus. With her last words to save the world ringing in his ears he had made the difficult choice to save the world at the cost of his love. His victory, as sad as it was, was destined to be short lived. His emotions sparring over each other his mind splintered and the blood rage took hold over him. With desperate greed he went on a blood fueled rampage until eventually he was chased out of the city he had lived in for his entire life. Determined to start a new life he wandered far from his homeland in search of a new place to live. Eventually he wandered far across the mountains and into the city of Silvery Moon. It was here that he was to try and make his new life. Shortly after arriving in this new city he has a fated encounter with a strange man known as Edmond and his talking cigar smoking cat. He was a mysterious being known as a traveler, and the cat was an ancient grimalkin. Giving Shiki hope and a strange card he left him to leave his own mark on the city whether for good or evil. The hybrid started his own homeless shelter to use both of his gifts to help out those who needed it. While working here a mysterious virus began to take over the city. It killed people by draining fluids out of them turning their bodies to dust. Eventually the situation got so bad that Shiki was forced to use the gift his mother had given him as a child. It was an angel stone. A natural element that boosted the power of angels temporarily allowing them to reach their true potential. When he used his power it was revealed that his true angel side was that of a Seraphim the highest rank of angel. This was far to much power for his half breed body to handle. His veins literally exploded with power and he almost died. However his natural ability to heal diseases and impurities was pushed to the limit, and the mysterious virus was eradicated. In his weakened mental state he succumbed to his blood lust and went on a rampage at the shelter. Their he was tricked into going to Divergence by a former traveler turned cat creature known as Abyssin.
