Daniel, a young man who was born into a impoverished family, wouldn't have gotten by in life if it wasn't for the charity and kindness of those around him- the other families in their little town, better-off, who wanted a good life for all the children in the town.. Not just their own. So it's no surprise that he's absorbed such a friendly, optimistic view of life and others by proxy. He grew up in a loving home, despite having so little, and got by on bare necessities.

Ever since his soulbound Kricketot- a simple bug pokemon that found him when he strayed a little too far out in the meadow one day- evolved into a Kricketune ( a feat that the young boy attributed to all the "good deeds" they had done around town building up as positive karma for his pokemon friend, although it was probably just because all the hard work had trained the bug up ), Daniel found that he loved to listen to his friend play it's music with it's scythes. Whether early in the morning or deep into the night, he would lay back and listen to the Kricketune's beautiful melody, and wished that he, too, could one day play such beautiful music.

Seeing the wishes of the boy, the townsfolk all saved up a little of their own money, some coin here and some coin there, until they were able to buy Daniel his very own violin. When they presented it to him, he was ecstatic.. He had to pick it up and play it right away!

And he sucked. After all, it was only his first attempt with the thing.

But after a few years of practice, and having late-night "jam sessions" with his Kricketune, playing violin-to-scythe, he eventually found that he could play just as well as his pokemon.. And more. Daniel eventually began to understand the music as a language.. He was able to interpret his Kricketune's music, translate it into words; not just the Kricketune, but the chirps and clicks of every Bug Pokemon he came across. Soon enough, he was communicating with them, playing his violin to speak with the Bugs, having conversations and making friends.

Once he found that he was old enough to venture out on his own, the young man set out with his Kricketune to find new, riveting adventures and make new friends- to spread his beautiful music alongside his Pokemon, see what the world had to offer him, and what he had to offer the world in return.
